This article about your Quasi particle was from 2017. 4yrs after article, this is first time I heard of it. I haven't seen it discussed on one of my favorite shows, "How the Universe Works".

market based on this, there will be Chinese knockoffs available for 10% of the price (or less).

I was flat out amazed my last couple of years in the chemical industry at the sheer amount of cheap Chinese knockoffs of industrial electronics that were on the market. I would NEVER, as a responsible engineer even have considered them.

I will give you an example. An electronic pressure transmitter from a reputable company costs around $350-$400 for my application, give or take a few bucks. There were literally dozens of different Chinese knockoffs of that same pressure transmitter, for UNDER TWENTY DOLLARS APIECE. In the US, you couldn't even by the exotic metal that the transmitter is made of for that price, much less have someone cast it, build in electronics, and then sell it.

This is not limited to electronics either, per se. There are plenty of videos on youtube with guys doing reviews of fake Fender or Gibson guitars, fake TaylorMade or Callaway golf clubs, the list is seemingly endless.

One of the more humorous ones, a fake TaylorMade driver of the most recent design literally self destructed after a half dozen swings by the internet pro (Rick Shiels). He was literally laughing, the quality was so bad.

So, today, more than ever, Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware). and, if something seems to good to be true, it is.

Then we are even, since I do not approve of Creepy Uncle Joe. But, let us all fervently hope that he lives out his term, because if Kamala Harris gets behind the big desk, this country is dooooomed, as Eeyore would say. We may only be doomed with one extra "o" under Mental Joe.
