You have to consider Bubba Brown especially his senior year he was the leader of a bad tail defense that included the Judge, Jeff Davis as a junior.
Terry Allen, Levon and Donnell have to be in that list. You have to consider the big uglies, the Bostic brothers that anchored our line in the 70's. Cliff Austin was a really productive back for us in his career and was quick, elusive or would take it to a defender!
Sounds like a couple of cases of cold beer and maybe a BBQ Pig Pickin to really has this out!

The Banks McFadden entry is ridiculous. Nobody here

saw him play. I know he was drafted high and an all-american in more than one sport. But come on, there's no way you can say Banks is better than charlie whitehurst but not as good as cj spiller but clearly better than bowers.

Stamos, We all maybe never saw him but his versatility speaks for itself, he was in his day very similar to Jim Thorpe, a mulit-sport athlete that excelled at all of them. I do not think we can discount him either.
We can argue all day that back in the day those athletes can't compare to todays as far as size and speed are concerned, but for the time he was considered one of the best in the country. How many guys do we know that excel on the D 1 level at so many things?

Tough list, so many greats to choose from

I am 38 so my personal memory of Clemson football starts in mid to late 80's and knew Clemson had won championship in '81...
1. Tajh Boyd - last year won me over with Tajh, true grit!! 2. Michael Dean Perry - great motor and technique 3. Rob Bodine - dominated games at times, including Georgia in '81 4. CJ Spiller - Most talented player in CU history no doubt in my mind 5A. Levon Kirkland - part of best defense and LB group not just in CU history but in NCAA history! 5B. Woodrow Dantzler - highlight film of this guy is incredible, will never forget his performance against NCSU and had Clemson in top 5 on his shoulders!
Enjoy thinking back to some great players and great teams, with a couple of mor fortunate bounces or plays here and there and Clemson has another national championship... especially years '85 - '91

I would put Gaines Adams ahead of Whitehurst and Bowers

Bowers had one of the best season's for a Clemson player his junior year, but Adams had a good junior year and great senior year.
