Tiggity,
What a load of crap. He was worried enough about his own health enough to get tested, but not worried enough about other's health, even his own colleagues, to self-quarantine while awaiting the results. He is a self-centered little prick !

He was not a candidate for testing.

You did read that. His doctors would not order a test. He pulled privilege to get one, and while waiting for that test, since he was not a candidate for testing even, he went about his life.
Sill may be a prick for pulling strings you when he didn't have to get tested, but if he was an average Joe, he could still be walking around untested. Had he not taken it upon himself to get tested, he wouldn't have based on his doctor. He didn't meet testing criteria. He quarantined himself once he knew the results. Until then, he kept going about his business, just as his doctor advised him.
He was worried because he had a preexisting condition.
But what the media ran with was him being tested and walking around before the results were known. Had it been ordered by a doctor, he would have been quarantined. He did this on his own. Other spin could be his selflessness for taking it upon himself to get tested, when his doctors refused to order it. Thereby saving even more in Congress from being exposed.
Still, a prick for pulling rank, or maybe not. Depending on your opinion and who filters your news.

Regardless of excuses about regulations, HE still was worried that he might have it but acted as if he didn't. Once he got tested, I think he was ethically obligated to self quarantine until he got the results. Lots of other people did. I think it was self-centered to do what HE wanted instead of what he knew was best for his group.

he had nefarious intentions, or was negligent. But it does highlight the danger of the virus, and not having symptoms doesn't mean we can't spread it.

I think he was negligent. The protocols if you suspect you might have the virus were clear and he ignored them for his own convenience.

I agree and I share your support for the Senator. Since he did not suspect he had the virus, he continued to do the same things every other Senator was doing. Thanks for pointing that out to all these people bad mouthing him.

Test for those who need them this prick decided he was special and ignored that and used his status to get tested. If he was worried enough to do that why not be worried enough about others to at least wait for the results.

shouldn't get tested? I don't understand what those two things have to do with each other. The rules said he shouldn't have gotten tested, but he did get tested, and he didn't quarantine, and he has COVID-19, therefore..... uh, what?
