National Do Something Good for Your Neighbor day

I remember a time when we actually knew who neighbors were. Wish we went back to caring for those near us and became a community again. With all our conveniences, we get so busy and have no time. Maybe the best way to motivate us, is reflect when someone did something for us and pay it forward.
So, I have had many people do kind things for me in my life, but I want to honor this couple. My wife and I were newly married and was working with our church's youth. We had very little money to spare. Our old car was having issues often. I asked this man if he would look at my car because he worked on them when he was home off the road. He was a truck driver. A couple days later, he drove up in a nice used car. This was in the early 90's, but they had bought us a car for $4000. They didn't ask for nothing for it. I found out they were saving to build their home and used that money for us. About two years later, while driving up north somewhere, that man lost control of his rig on an icy road and careened off the mountain and passed away. So I honor his memory today and I will look for someone to help today, tomorrow and the next day. Reflection makes us thankful, forgiving and hopeful Have a great day Tiger Nation!! Excellent examples and really just look for opportunities to be a good neighbor. I am reflecting on myself if not anyone else, I can do more. I have a lot to be thankful for.

This morning on way to work, I stopped and helped a woman with a flat tire. Not for praise, but it was a good feeling to help someone.

neighborhood. In fact, the widows always call my wife and ask her to send me over to fix something. I enjoy helping out and they've all adopted my daughter as the neighborhood grandchild.
