I think Tristan Smith has looked awesome in his limited time so far. I hate how everything turned out yesterday. I know the South Carolina series is huge, and we can’t get swept. But we sacrificed the midweek game yesterday with how we handled the pitchers to focus on this weekend. I may be naive but I feel if smith pitched the whole game upstate doesn’t score 4 in the 3rd or 4th whatever Inning it was. I feel we win the game. Hopefully it pays off and we win the series this weekend!

I think Ammons has been solid in the Friday role but he might be more valuable in that Pat Krall kind of role where we can bring him in and stretch him out for a couple innings twice in one weekend. He misses bats and that would be huge to have back when we need someone to come in and get us out of a jam.

Ammons does is no good as a closer if we don’t have leads late in games. A long relief pitcher would be perfect for him if he doesn’t start. I don’t know how I feel about dill. Gordon I’m ok with. Smith is good, but we have to find one more starter.

Why did Smith only go 1 inning last night? He's def our future ACE, but I agree we need to just throw him in the weekend rotation now.
