CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Week 12 of the ACC Football season is set to play a major role in shaping the College Football Playoff picture, the ACC Championship Game race and the postseason bowl outlook for several teams. With six conference matchups and one Top-25 non-conference showdown, this weekend’s schedule is packed with postseason implications across the league.
ESPN’s College GameDay will be live from Pittsburgh on Saturday, Nov. 15, marking the second time this season the premier pregame show has visited an ACC school, following its Week 4 broadcast from Miami. ACC Huddle will also be on site, providing insights, analysis and coverage of ACC action throughout the day.
The spotlight remains on Pittsburgh into the afternoon as No. 22 Pitt hosts No. 9 Notre Dame in a marquee non-conference matchup kicking off at Noon ET on ABC. The showdown at Acrisure Stadium carries national significance and could shake up the next CFP rankings, with both teams looking to bolster their postseason resumes.
Across the conference, several matchups will influence the race toward Charlotte and the 2025 ACC Championship Game. Georgia Tech, Virginia, Duke, Louisville and Miami remain in contention near the top of the standings, while others aim to secure bowl eligibility and build late-season momentum.

ACC is the Deepest Power 4 Conference
The ACC has proven it is the deepest Power 4 conference this season:

Race to Charlotte for the 2025 ACC Football Championship Game
The race to the 2025 ACC Football Championship Game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, is coming down to the final weeks of the regular season.
With just three weeks left in the regular season, the ACC title chase is as thrilling as ever. Four programs are locked in a 5-1 dead heat atop the standings, while a fifth contender lurks just behind at 4-1.
Eight ACC Teams Already Set to Go Bowling
The ACC already has eight teams eligible for postseason play with at least six wins.
Georgia Tech was the first to secure a bowl berth, defeating Virginia Tech 35‑20 on October 11 (Week 7).
Virginia followed, earning eligibility with a 22‑20 win over Washington State on October 18 (Week 8).
In Week 9 (Oct. 25), Pitt (53‑34 vs. NC State), Miami (42‑7 vs. Stanford), and Louisville (38‑24 vs. Boston College) all reached six wins.
Week 10 (Nov. 1) saw SMU become the sixth team eligible after an overtime win over then-No. 10 Miami, 26‑20.
In Week 11 (Nov. 8), California upset No. 15 Louisville 26‑20 (OT), and Wake Forest defeated No. 14 Virginia 16‑9, both clinching bowl eligibility with Top‑15 victories.
ACC and ESPN/ACCN Enhanced Instant Replay Transparency
Week 12 will feature two games for the ESPN/ACCN Enhanced Instant Replay Broadcast with the ACC Football Friday Night Game between Clemson and No. 20 Louisville at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC’s Saturday noon contest between No. 9 Notre Dame and No. 22 Pitt.

Fans will hear real-time officiating deliberations throughout the game.
ACC was the only league providing this level of access in select games in 2024 and the start of 2025, setting a new standard for college football.
ESPN’s College Gameday Headed to Pitt
ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will broadcast live from the North Shore of Pittsburgh on Saturday, November 15, from 9 a.m. to noon ET, ahead of the No. 22 Pitt Panthers’ Week 12 matchup with No. 9 Notre Dame at Acrisure Stadium.
This marks College GameDay’s first visit to Pittsburgh since Thursday, September 1, 2022, when the Panthers defeated West Virginia, 38–31, in the return of the Backyard Brawl.
Prior to that, the show last appeared at a Pitt home game on a Saturday when the Panthers hosted Notre Dame on September 3, 2005.
Overall, this will be the fourth time Pittsburgh has hosted the broadcast and the third time on a Saturday.
This will be the second time College GameDay has traveled to an ACC campus this year after broadcasting live from Coral Gables, Florida, in Week 4 as the then-No. 4 Miami Hurricanes knocked off in-state rival Florida, 26-7.
2025 ACC Football Championship Game in Primetime Once Again
The 2025 ACC Football Championship Game will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, December 6, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, on ABC. The league’s football championship game will showcase the top two teams based on regular-season conference winning percentage.
The 8 p.m. ET kickoff marks the 16th time in the last 17 years that the game will be held in primetime. Since its inception in 2005, a total of 14 different teams have competed in the championship game.
Bank of America Stadium, home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, has hosted 14 of the last 15 ACC Football Championship Games. The ACC, Carolina Panthers, and the Charlotte Sports Foundation have an agreement to keep the championship game in Charlotte through the 2030 season.
The winner of the conference championship game has advanced to the National Championship Game or competed in the College Football Playoff in nine of the last 12 seasons, including both of the two participating teams last year, with the ACC being one of only three multi-bid leagues.
