the same about Will Swinney at WR? Kid looked better catching the ball then the starters...
What I am saying is can't tell when both 2nd stringers were in there.
Think it is too early too judge on Cade, but keep playing him. DJ will be fine vs Furman and La Tech, but if he struggles vs Wake then you throw Cade in there.

I see furman and la tech is the chance to get Cade ready to start. Why sit him on the sidelines until we are trailing wake??

I feel like Dabo is going to give DJ every opportunity to prove whether he is or isn't the guy but I also think Cade is going to get more work over the next couple of games and by WF or NCS, the dye will be cast, one way or the other.

Wise comment sir. It will play itself out. I have an opinion like everyone else but in the end, we will know by game 4 or 5 and my opinion really isn’t going to affect the conclusion to the latest chapter in our QB transitions.
Episode 1: Stroud to Watson
Episode 2: Bryant to Lawrence
Episode 3: Uiagalelei to Klubnic?
Seems likely but stay tuned. The others worked out so maybe Dabo knows what’s he’s doing. I’ll always wonder if we could have won in Athens in 2014 with 60 minutes of Watson, but hard to start a true freshman in the first game.

I meant Drew Swinney, My main point, is not enough to go by with just one drive. Cade needs two drives vs FBS schools with 1st team. Furman won't prove anything, but LA Tech might. Vs Wake would...

down the field the way DW used to. He’s quicker, a faster decision maker, accurate and has a different energy than the starter.
Swinney had some catches against the 2’s, which he has had before. That’s his ceiling. We all know that.
This isn’t a good comparison.

In Drew’s entire career prior to last night, he had 6 catches for 33 yards (mostly on jet sweep/ pop passes, IIRC.)
Last night, 2 catches for 26, and he was an integral part of Cade’s attack.
I’d be willing to bet our #2s—including Drew—could score 28+ against Wake. Maybe not Furman, but Wake.

I can respect Dabo wanting DJ to lose his job based on game performance, instead of practice performance. However, there is plenty of evidence at this point where DJ is as a player.
