Francoeur back with Braves on minors deal

Braves signed OF Jeff Francoeur to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Francoeur, of course, was drafted by the Braves and had some of his best seasons in Atlanta before moving on. The veteran outfielder batted .258/.286/.433 with 13 home runs for the Phillies last season and turned 32 last month. He's not a given to make the major league roster but could see some playing time versus lefties if he d

Fun fact: he was going to play football here before he got drafted and decided to pursue his baseball career.

Yep , he was a bigtime FS coming out of Georgia HS football , but was a high draft pick and went with baseball . Bowden had a good one , too bad we will never know if Jeff Francouer was NFL caliber at the safety position.

How about a position coach on the baseball staff . He could enroll as a freshman and get his degree while coaching the game he loves !
