Can we go ahead and retire this lazy, tired trope trying to explain every uninspired performance or player who doesn’t pan out to expectations?

College is becoming professionalized, I don’t like it either but it’s where we are and it’s not going back. Hopefully it gets better guardrails and uniformity soon, but the money is here to stay.

Blaming all the problems on people getting paid as an excuse why we should pretend like we’re recruiting in 2007 is asinine. Everyone gets paid in the NFL yet that’s not an issue, plenty of grit, thoughness, and team play there. Of course there are always divas and terrible teams, but is anyone saying “hey let’s make the players play for free to fix these issues?” No, because they’d sound like an absolute clown, just like the ones on here blaming every players poor game or uninspiring performance on them getting paid, get over it already

In today's college football there are a lot of check chasers whose salary to physicality desires are in opposite directions.
