Pass coverage.
Pitt used their TE to eat D.C. alive on pass routes.
LBs typically seem to be mediocre at pass coverage when they first get to college.
I’m optimistic that D.C.’s struggles from last season won’t be repeated in 2025 season.

Good point - maybe his quick reads and gap blitzes caught him biting on counters and run fakes too much. Sometimes it pays to take a split second longer to read intent.

I definitely don't have faith in our backups. It will be a pleasant surprise to see one of them to shine. Maybe somebody like CJ Kubah-Taylor?

Because I have never seen anything from them in even limited play where they flashed. Then to top it off they generally weren't that highly regarded out of HS. We can hope, but that's all it is. I like what somebody else posted though, that the staff didnt really make LB a huge priority it seems in this class, so they must believe. We shall see.

So yeah, you haven’t seen anything but that’s because their turn hasn’t arrived yet. How can you critique guys you’ve never seen?
I’ll rely on the fact the staff didn’t see a need in the portal. Says they think they can win at the highest level with who we got.
Maybe you should try to follow suit and not imagine things you don’t really know about?

Yeah usually even without their so called turn, they do play and show something. They didn't. They weren't that highly ranked recruits either. So that makes an, I will believe in when I see it type person. Don't get all butt hurt clown.

I don't know why some of you seem to forget that we had a subpar LB coach and DC last year.
Expect something close to night and day.
And oh yeah, some players actually get better year to year. Lots, actually.

Coaches must have faith in our backups as they really only went after Atkinson this class and now appear to be fine not signing any LBs.

Crayton is Ok, you will not see him much in the red zone. We are going to play 5 DB's with Allen, and Mike Reed is one of the best in the business. We potentially have Jeremiah Alexander in 2026, unless he dominates this year, and K Taylor looks the part, although he has yet to do anything. Physically, he is a specimen.

Yeah , I'm good with the 4-2-5 but we need added depth for the long haul.
If we play up to expectations it's going to be a long season and attrition and possibly injuries are always a possibility
Hopefully Boulware and Allen together can accelerate the learning curve of those waiting like Taylor and DC

I think people are sleeping on Kobe Mcloud as well. If he can come back from his knee injury the guy was slated to be the starter last year for a reason.
