Now, in that chicken little mindset, image how the last 3 seasons would have looked with an elite QB.
Therein lies the reason for a little bit of a slide from the elite level. Thats it.
Let’s calm down with “it doesn’t look or feel the same”. What I’ve seen are 3 straight years of mediocre QB play.
Let’s keep things in proper perspective. If we can find a QB to operate this system (where there are open guys by design almost every play), then there’s absolutely no reason we can’t contend for another national championship. We really haven’t been too far off of you look at things one and not emotionally.
Let’s go Tigers!!

for me, I never feel that Wes Goodwin's defense can stop the opponents in the red zone. Every other piece of his game is elite. But Venables would bend but never ever break. I don't know if Goodwin's defense has one stop in the West End Zone when the game is on the line.
and the offense... it just cannot score ever.
Clemson Football is very close to turning the corner. Maybe they are just one win more SEC East win away from getting the CFP confidence back

We haven’t lost any games due to redzone defense. The defense is 6th in the country which means we don’t allow people to just drive the ball on us.
All of your “feelings” really go back the mediocre play at QB. We’ve lost due ti turnovers and QBs who aren’t playing at an elite level like all the other elite teams. Find that, we’re right back to elite status.

i watch Spencer Rattler annihilate us in the west end zone with game on the line and us miss the CFP that year when every team we needed to lose lost.
and i watched Xavier Thomas jog back to the sideline shrugging too many times after the defense let TDs in after turnovers.
I also watch so many more opponents score TDs in the west end zone under Goodwin than i ever had during Venables' run.
... I do recall that the gap between the #1 & #2 teams in the nation and the #3 + during the CFP run was drastic. I think it's great that the defense is #6 but #6 doesn't win rings
It's like Bowden era again in the west end zone. It's painful to watch. Venables was magic. and it all happened there.
** I think that Sammy Brown will be the DW4 or TL16 of Defense and that it'll all get fixed now that GOODWIN has his first real defense. His player prototype is tall and athletic. It will make the world of difference

QB play is an issue but not the only issue. We also had coaching issues and missed out on elite WRs. It all worked together to form the speed bump we hit

it's about to get savage in the WR room. and CK2 will be told to either sit or throw to the freshmen. he favors friends too much rnl. Dabo let him have the Mafah over Ship because we all saw it. but Randall over WESCO . LOL
Cade can dime drop but he doesn't have NFL athletes.
Adam Randall can be him too if he learns to play violent,. but that just hasn't happened yet. I'm hoping to see him fight for his minutes and to start talking loud on the field.

who can thrive in this offense. I still can’t figure out why we didn’t go after Bryce Baker. He was the perfect fit for this offense, but the staff locked in on Blake Hebert instead.

Absolutely not! Dude is a walking character issue and its not secret hes touring campuses looking for a bag...Stay away from this kid at all costs...There is a reason UGA rescinded their offer and we havent even had him on campus...
