If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a merrier Christmas.
Glad our boys win some here and there but really, how much longer can we (long suffering Clemson fans) put up with season after season of ifs, buts, maybes and “what till next year”? What standard is the AD measuring men’s basketball too?

What std does AD use to judge our hoops team.... it's ok for only 3 Dances in 13 years.
I asked him what was the goal of the bb team ? I asked why did we not dream of a natty and state that goal. Response was basically, Coach stays.

Giving Brad an extension would be just as bad as his past 14 years, and that is not to expect very much from any additional year. Brownell has already been paid enough money for him, his wife, and his kids after he's gone to live comfortable for the rest of their lives!!!
Plus, all the money that he has been paid to Brownell over the past 14 years hasn't bought our basketball program a sniff of what a championship should smell like, and that itself is an awful shame hovering over the basketball program.

Yeah because with his best team ever, simply making the tourney is enough. It’s just not. He needs to win at least two, and that doesn’t include one if we fall to play in game range. Bc if he can’t get it done with hall and girard… just imagine how awful next years team will be.

If the goal is to make the NCAA tournament and at least have a reasonably decent chance of making it to the sweet 16 then I’d say The team and by extension the coaching staff isn’t living up to This Seasons goals. However, if the goal is just to put a respectable team on Court and generally be competitive, then we have

IMO, those are not very lofty expectations. I kind like Jimmy Valvano's expectations. Every year at the start of the season they started with practicing cutting down the net which the National Champion team does after winning it all. I just don't see the fire and passion in Brownell, and I can't help but think that lackadaisical attitude permeates throughout the team. I do think we have some very good players, but I just wish Brad were a better coach. He has been paid a lot of money for very mediocre results.

I've seen people showing more passion of a Rattle Snake being killed than Brownell shows when his team is losing what was a big lead and then lose the game!!! His arms crossed with that stupid look on his face does not equal any passion that I've ever seen!!!

Basketball at Clemson has no goals or expectations. Look at both the men's and women's programs for proof. You can spin it however you wish, in any other profession both programs would have been gutted and started over years ago. Football, baseball, and soccer have expectations.

Double bye would’ve been nice. Still expect 2 first round losses no matter where we finish and what tournament it is. Expect the worst with Clemson basketball. If we win one that would be nice. I assume we’d have to win by 15 since our odds of winning a close one are so low.

I think the double byes signify greater success for the season. I kind of like the idea of us having great success throughout the season and earning that reward.

My opinion is this, if a coach can't get his team up to beat a team that they should have beaten at home, HE isn't to much of a coach, and to see it any other way is crazy!!!

This team lost momentum once coming out of non-conference & now doing it again with a favorable closing stretch that could get Clemson the much needed double bye for ACCT. This team is so Jekyll & Hyde it's frustrating.

A 5-1 conference finish (completely realistic) puts us at 12-8 in ACC, which is a pretty good season and should meet most fan’s expectations.
Part II is winning at least 1 in the ACC Tournament.
Part III is making the NCAA tournament, and hopefully making a little run.
