Biggest story out of Clemson in a long time rocks the college football world late yesterday, and this morning, Mickey Plyler on Clemson's flagship station, spent the entire ride into work talking to some dude about fishing. You can't make this stuff up.

Over his buddy Streeter. He spent this whole year trying to work the position that none of it was Streeters fault so you know this hit him like a ton of bricks.

One of the many reasons I stopped listening to WCCP

MANY years ago.
Their incessant ramblings were maddening. That and Tommy Powell constantly eating on the air while doing his show.
I can remember when the station started out in the early 90's as Foothills 104.9 playing oldies before switching to all sports

Lmao, Mickey is so entrenched within the program that you can’t take his show seriously. He was friends with Streeter so it was awkward for him this morning. He defended the garbage we saw this year and acted like a butt hurt baby anytime someone talked about the issues on offense with coaching and DJ. He’s just bad radio. Great man though.

to WCCP because it is all about Clemson sports. I can tolerate, and actually appreciate the down home feel of occasional small talk and technical glitches and homer takes and so forth. An ESPN-like copy of a major market format would suck much more massively. But this morning took the cake. Biggest story of the past year put on the back burner during the most important time slot of the day ... for fishing. Mind-bottling.

Man we only talked Streeter And Riley for 8 of 9 segments today. Had Larry Williams and Roy Philpot on as guests. Podcast already up. It’s the first time in years we spent that much time on one subject.

I can barely listen anymore. Mickey and that golf and Cateechee or whatever that nobody asks about or wants to hear about and Brad’s mindless raving clichéd responses to Walt brainstorming reaasons to double down on his own flawed logic when he’s a little off prediction have put them in the weeds much like our offense for the last couple years.

You can't fill a whole show with the same handful of people whose only job is calling every show every day.

If you listened to hour one of his show all they talked about was the hire. Then he brought in a few guests to talk about the hire in hour 2, and then the fishing report which I really enjoy.

way to work, at lunch, or on the way home from work. So, I'm only tuned in for between 45 min/1 hour tops on any given day. So anything that is on the other 23 hours of the day, I will miss. That's a choice I make, and I am fine living with the results. However, I would think those times when I listen, are the peak times overall, when most other people are listening as well. That's why it seems so strange to me that they would not fill those specific times with the most important, desired content.

hating on Mickey or any of them, and as long as they are a good source of Clemson sports info, I will listen. I just found it odd that on this particular day, at that particular time, they were talking about fishing. Just my opinion and my personal preference, but I don't care to hear people talking about fishing in the first place, especially when I want to hear about the biggest story all year. I understand and accept that WCCP nor Mickey Plyler cater specifically to me, and I don't expect them to, and this is not a blanket condemnation of Mickey or WCCP.
