He coached at Lake Travis HS in Austin, Texas. Austin is MUCH nicer than Lubbock.
West Texas is pretty much a desert.

actually, Lubbock is in North West Texas, more scrub-bush county. Desert county is more to south from there.
It does STINK in Lubbock, as that is stockyard county...

Life in Lubbock, Texas, taught me two things: One is that God loves you and you're going to burn in Hell. The other is that sex is the most awful, filthy thing on Earth and you should save it for someone you love. -- Butch Hancock

Morris' salary would double, but Venables' salary would more than triple.

Great pic. Sums up Lobbuck. Lived there for over a year due to work and it is the most depressing place I have ever been. No trees and everything is brown.

It's the the $$$$$ and prestige! A head coaching job in the BIG 12 is better than being an OC. Like it or not TT isn't a bad job. It's also in an offensive minded league. Nice match for Chad.
Seriously sorry you'll are getting screwed over at this time of the year!

233K people is a good sized little city. Sounds absolutely BORING. Tuberville knew what he was doing.

Mike Leach showed what TT is capable of in the big 12. Like it or not TT is a lot better job than chad has now.
