September 1, 2023 will stay in my mind as the day that Jimmy Buffett passed away. What a great songwriter and entertainer for those of us that love the idea of a tropical lifestyle and party.

As much as I like the Big 8, I always thought the Banana Wind album had some catchy songs. Unfortunately it never really caught on like some of his others. Jamaica Mistaica comes to mind, and the story behind it is pretty good too.

we sang it to all of our girls to get them to sleep. Also Little Miss Magic (father-daughter dance at her wedding) and Delaney Talks to Statues. West Nasheville Ballroom gown, Tin Cup Chalice, The Wino and I Know...and on and on. RIP Jimmy!

Saw Buffett in concert 19 times. My wife and I had our 1st date on March 7, 1980... of course it was a Buffett concert.
