Way too early SEC-less NC situation

Oct 27, 2012, 8:33 PM

Lets say Georgia wins out in the regular season and beats Alabama in the SEC championship (not too far fetched). Does a one loss SEC champ Georgia who got destroyed by an unranked SCAR team who has just lost to Clemson make the NC if both Oregon and Notre Dame stay undefeated? If so, who do they face? The eyeball test says Oregon may be the best team in the country, and Notre Dame will have run the preseason toughest schedule in the nation undefeated - could we see Oregon-ND? I realize this is unlikely but very possible.

LOL, you forgot the actual best team in the country.

Kansas State.

That's true, but I like K-State's toughness, depth, and

ability to control the ball. Those things set them apart from the pack to me.

Agreed. This Bill Snyder squad seems to be a bit different..

than all of those 10-win teams in the past.

I didnt forget, you're very right! I just feel Oregon and ND more hype for the reasons i listed. If K State is undefeated as well, the BCS is going to be a cluster$!@$ at the top

If it's Georgia they will.

Oct 27, 2012, 8:40 PM

Florida is capable of being very good on any given day, and could compete with Bama.

I realize Bama winning out is very likely, but I would have told you Florida destroys UGA by 2 TDs at least before today - Alabama has played NO ONE this year and really hasnt been challenged, though they really do look like a great team - anybody is capable of having an off night and UGA's offense can get on runs when they're in sync. One can hope right?

Alabama's SOS is 30th and will get better after playing #11 Mississippi St and next week playing LSU.

Clemson's SOS is 66th.

Re: Bama will mangle the East champ***

Oct 27, 2012, 9:31 PM

Clemson's SOS is terrible, but completely irrelevant in this situation - we are ranked so low in the BCS due to our awful SOS, but I'm not talking about us here or trying to find an angle for us to get in the NC. My comment on Bama not having played anyone so far is true - they have zero wins over current ranked teams, and they are going to thrash a COMPLETELY OVERRATED Miss St team who is going to lose 3 weeks in a row to Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M and end up unranked, still giving Bama zero top 25 wins. Bama's only true test will be next week vs LSU and then the SEC championship.

Depends on which UGA team shows up.

Ga. has the same quality of athletes Bama has. If they show up to play, they can play with Bama. Beat them? Doubtful. Bama "mangle" UGA? Doubtful.
