Watching breakdowns of Cade against FSU

Can tell we got us a good young QB with more experience he has a chance to be great. He’s starting to see the field better and not rushing to flush the pocket. Even looked off a safety on the Tyler Brown throw. His release is insanely quick and when he’s settled you won’t find a more accurate QB. Now he does have to continue to work on pocket presence and picking up where the blitz is coming from. Good to see him make some checks Saturday to, even on the boneheaded OT play his thinking on the matchup was correct but he has to get better at situational football. All in all I can’t wait to see this kid continue to grow and get this offense really humming.

I just wish we would have given the kid a little more experience last year, when it was clear that DJ was not the guy. It would have paid dividends this year (and last year) - I'm convinced that we would not have lost the USC game either.

That’s about the only thing he’s lacking is experience, takes a little bit to adjust to college. The continued improvement shows he’s getting comfortable and I don’t doubt one second he won’t clean up the rest.

Good post.

I like Cade, too, and think we need to remember he is still young.

What I like is that he is intense and plays hard. His reading of defenses and his pocket presence will improve as he plays more.

Yep he’s made strides in every game so far, I like how mentally tough the kid is. With other QBs you had to worry about a bad play taking them out the game, Cade will jump right back in ready to go.
