Wasn't aware there was a contest of injuries on this board

Oct 28, 2012, 2:15 PM

I keep seeing some people on here whining about our current players who are injured and why we are not showing them any support.

For one, I don't think any of our guys suffered career ending injuries. From the way Spurrier was talking about Lattimore, it sounds as if his football days are over and that is a terrible thing for such a talented kid regardless of his alma mater.

Secondly, many of us did show support when our guys were injured. That topic has gone and passed and now that we wish to show support for this tragic event, some of you try to 'one up' Latti's injury and that's just classless. Drop the orange shades for a moment and imagine if that was your kid.

Third, if I'm not mistaken, some on here wanted to throw Sammy in a game when he was in an injured state with a stomach virus...showing lots of support there guys. And don’t even mention the difference in severity of injuries…you’ll just be proving my point.

I'm not speaking to everyone on this board. But a few of you don't hesitate to speak so selfishly about an unfortunate event like this. I'll be sure to let those of you that are concerned the next time one of our players have a hang nail or a blister so you can show your support...unbelievable.

Does anyone know the extent of Lattimore's injury? The stuff i've seen has been all over the board, from "he'll never play again" to "we're optimistic he will make a full recovery" to this on Twitter from Michael Haney at

107.5 the game in Columbia:
Spurrier said Lattimore had a similar injury to TJ Gurley. Knee popped out of place but was put back quickly. Trainers feel optimistic.

COLLEGE: A three-year starter at strong safety for Clemson, finished his career with 234 tackles and 11 interceptions.

There have been rumors of all four ligaments torn in knee with a broken femor. Don't know if that's accurate but when your head coach is saying loosely quoted "There will always be place for Lattimore," and "Good things will happen for Marcus," it doesn't provide a lot of confidence in Marcus' future football career.

but I doubt he will notice. He will get tens of thousands and he will be focused on his rehab. the kid didnt become a star player by letting anything get in his way. I expect to see him play again and excel at it regardless of what any doctor says
