Was watching the Cooterville game and

Dec 14, 2017, 12:06 PM

noticed how the Peckerwoods would just drop the ball to the ground while the Tigers handed it to the reffs. Sometimes a player on our defense would pick up the ball, after a Coot dropped it, and handed it over. Class and respect begins at the top.

Not only that, but the coots figure that the longer it takes the refs to get the ball in play, the more time off the game clock, the sooner their misery and embarrassment comes to an end. We want the ball in play to score again!

Actually, as soon as the play is done the clock starts at either 25 or 40 seconds depending on the play and if a penalty or time out has been called. It did become more obvious that USuC had given up as the game continued. The longer the game got the more they appeared to not give the refs the ball. Of course USuC scored on Clemson's 3rd string and wanted to say the didn't give up but it's obvious that they had or they could have scored more on the reserves. Go Tigers.

There is a practical reason for handing to the ref

Dec 14, 2017, 12:12 PM

that way they can spot the ball faster and we can run tempo.

There's two practical reasons,

and the other is to get respect from the refs.

The proof of how much this is instilled into our players heads is shown when Renfrow tossed the ball to the ref after scoring the winning TD in the NC game last season.

Haha I’m all for some good coot bashing; but this is pretty silly. The only reason the clemson players hand the ball to the ref every time is because they are coached to do it as fast as they can so the ball can be spotted fast, because we run a tempo offense. Chad Morris said this in an interview. My team was coached to drop or leave the ball where we were tackled, and get back to the huddle. It has nothing to do with disrespect or class.

Bubba, why would our defensive player had back

a dropped Coot ball to hurry up the Coot offense. Stupid comment! Are you a Coot?

I also noticed that we politely handed the ball to the ref in the endzone after we scored, but they did not score most of the game.
