Company Im associated is looking for new employees in the upstate. Norfolk Southern railroad looking for conductors. Can be found on their website.

I heard the same thing one time. When they call, you come right then and you only have so much time to get there. 7 days a week. Sounded like a good job for a single man.

They took the fun out of railroading when they eliminated the little red caboose. The freight train crew years ago consisted of the engineer, fireman, brakeman, flagman and conductor. As a kid, the sound of that distinctive steam whistle coming from that smoke belching coal fired locomotive made me feel like everything in all the world was at peace.
