So I'm at the Food Lion. Standing at the tomato section, which was freshly

stocked. It seems someone before me caused an avalanche and 2 tomatoes were on the floor.
Food Lion employee walks up, picks up the two tomatoes off the floor, and puts then RIGHT BACK on the shelf, as I'm standing there picking out tomatoes. Didn't miss a beat, and she just walked off.

Have had to use online shopping 2x. 1st timeit was amazing. Our shopper was texting us with pics asking if this fruit/veg was ok, also alternatives if our brand or type wasn't available of a certain item.
2nd time was horrific and we ended up trashing every none packed item. They not only delivered the groceries 12hrs before scheduled but also didn't tell us they were doing such until 4 hrs after drop off. Chicken left on the porch in July in Southern California...nope.

No telling what/who any veggie or fruit has touched prior to you buying it. I'd think the floor of the grocery store would be one of the more benign things to come into contact with.
Either rinse it off, or just eat it as is. Those are the choices for all of these things.
