Our TE blocking is some of the worst I've ever seen

It's one thing if you just have a hard time sustaining blocks, but our guys aren't even getting a hand on the defenders. Just total whiffs. I'm resign to the fact that Seckinger and Leggett can't and won't block, but had high hopes for JJ. Sat. night he was just as bad as the other guys. Dabo just confirmed the obvious on his Sunday night review. I personally don't understand why team are trying to take away our run game. We lack the blocking and talent at RB for anybody to be afraid of that aspect of our offense. If I was a defensive coordinator, I'd drop 7 or 8 guys into coverage most every play and dare us to beat them with the run.

None of these guys WANT to block. Personally, I hope Milan starts next year and these supposed TEs we have now ride the pine while someone with heart takes the field.
I thought JJ was going to show up but he was awful last night just like the other two.
A TE who won't or can't block is not worthy of a scholarship. It's really that simple.

agree. Wouldn't let them play or catch until they block, block and block some more.

That our 2 tight ends that played WR in high school (Leggett and Seckinger) and the one that played RB (JJ) weren't recruited for their inline blocking. Leggett made a huge catch against UNC. I suppose Jimmy Graham should also ride the pine for New Orleans because he isn't a great blocker.

Dwayne Allen is a stud TE, and it took him a while too. I think we have guys more on the WR side now at TE save for Cooper and JJ.

Danny Pearman is a charter member of Dabo's Blind Boys of Alabama Club and is obvious that Dabo places a greater value on his friendship with Pearman than the Clemson football program.

It's the only thing our coaches can remedy right away.

It seems that TEs don't usually start on this team until they are upper classmen. That's not to contest how the coaches do it it's more because they are sometimes assigned to DE which are some of the most brutal guys on a d-line.
Frankly, our guys just don't believe they can grab and maintain the position so they don't focus and concentrate long enough to develop. When Sam went down there was no one really ready to fill the void. They all have good hands and can catch well but they just need a foot up their behinds when it comes to blocking.
You guys know I'm a pumper so this comes from such a perspective. We have a history of producing quality TE from our senior and RS senior classes. I see that interrupted this season.

We were spoiled with M. Palmer and D. Allen

Both guys were NFL TEs, but the blocking we are seeing right now down right ridiculous. Clearly Pearman is living off the success of those guys because it looks like this year's TEs aren't even being coached. I saw so many instances Sat night (and all season for that matter) where the defense would sometimes have two guys come off the edge with the TE right there. Ok, we know you can't block 2 guys so just get 1 to give Watson or the RB a chance maybe make one guy miss. Instead, our TEs wouldn't touch either guy and they let both come free. Just unacceptable. It's like they don't even care.
If Cooper is unable to come back healthy, we may need to burn M. Richards redshirt to see if he cares. Eventually, they're gonna get Watson killed. If I'm a D-Coordinator, I'd game plan to exploit that weakness.

Not to mention special teams and recruiting...this is some of the worst TE play I have EVER witnessed in 25+ years of Clemson football.
I'm still unsure why this guy is still employed by Clemson University.
