It's supposedly for the academic side only, with athletics staying the same, but I have my doubts long-term that athletics doesn't get stuck with it. Feedback from the fanbase has been 85-90% negative.

But what you said about it only applying to academics is really strange to me. I'm no marketing genius, but I would think for VT, like most D1 schools, their sports programs are their best marketing tools. Why create a disparity?

in fact I like the font they used for "Virginia Tech". I've seen some mock-ups of alternate logos with that same font that look good. It's that weird swoosh that looks goofy and is causing the blowback.
They paid something like $25K (!) for the design, plus will pay millions to rebrand all their other stuff on the academic side. So yeah, Branding 101 says athletics will get stuck with it too (after the heat dies down), and that's going to #### a lot of fans off all over again.

Maybe you should use some research skills and see that it is the academic logo changed, not the athletic logo. VT is far from scared.

okay. pretty sure I am not one of those. I just joined this because a lot of Clemson fans I have encountered have been able to talk some good football talk. I love college football and like talking to others that arent wearing maroon and orange glasses.
