what was his defense like at ou. anyone have the stats while he was there? some ou fans said he was good first few years and then depressed but what he's doing here is exceptional

No where near our numbers but darn good for the b12. No where near the personnel either and who knows what flexibility he had.

I do not have any stats for Coach V at ou, but what affected him there was the stoops factor. Mainly bum stoops making his brother a co-defensive coordinator.

My OU coworker loved BV. He said the defense was gone when BV left.

is that MRS Venables pushed BV to talk to Dabo and come to Clemson just to
look. She was not happy when Stoops made Brent "CO" DC. She knew who was
the real deal and it was not Stoops that poops. That is why I was not concerned
that Coach V would leave at this time. He is a TRULY HONEST guy and it is refreshing
in a world of Willie Taggert's and Dumbo Fisher's whom would rather climb a tree and tell a lie than
stand on the ground and tell the truth. We really have a SPECIAL group of coaches and they do
a fanatic job.

The defenses were looked at as underperforming. I think they were in the 30s or 40s but it was all being in the Big 12. There efficiency numbers were outstanding. OU in his last year was 4 or 5 in the country in efficiency and the OU fans thought they were getting rid of him.

They have never been the same and goes without saying that Clemson has not either
