I really wish In and Out Burger opened a restaurant here. A few years ago I emailed VP of In and Out. She said we aren’t really looking in the Greenville/Anderson area. 3 months later they are opening a store in Tennessee. That will be the most East location they have come.

Their closest one will be in Nashville in a couple of years. They are opening one there.

Ever since they sold, I constantly am disappointed relative to the standard they set. Although i constantly find myself torn between their fish tacos and a burger because of how good those things were.

Still great today. 15 to 20 years ago, I'd put the Beacon right up there with Ike's, but it seems to be hit and miss there now.
Also, Public Service Announcement.....I would strongly recommend NOT ordering "a plenty" from the Beacon on the food apps. Burger and fries were good, but the burnt grease from the onion rings settled to the bottom of the wax paper and the smell was terrible. Tried it twice over the last few years and same results both times. You've been warned.

You couldnt get a better, more satisfying burger for ~$10 downtown. It’s $17 now. But business is still booming. I just find myself there a lot less.
Little Jacks is amazing. But it’s a small bite for $9 a go.

The best Hamburger restaurant in SC was Bash RipRocks in Clemson. When they changed the name and changed location it just never was the same. The mushroom and swiss burger was amazing. YUUMMM!

But the Dairyland in Walterboro is probably the best burger I've had.
I know, I know, folks have their opinions about the town but easily would put the burgers they serve there against any place in the state and I bet it'd holds its own.
Slightly Off Topic - the Duke's there is also pretty dadgum good. I've tried Bessinger's and Lewis BBQ and that Duke's is just as good (though they don't have brisket -- Lewis BBQ definitely gets my business for the brisket).
