Wow! Someone else in this world has common sense. Boyd is just a one dimensional type quarterback that can only throw a deep ball on his first read. He has no idea on how to scan the field and he has the worse pocket presence of any quarterback and I have ever seen. Just watch the next game that he plays. He has time to throw the ball in the pocket, but he never steps up in the pocket. He runs right into the pass rush instead of buying time and looking down field. I will be shocked if he were drafted by a NFL team.

If the NFL is desperate enough to try and get Farve to come out of retirement, then I think there's a place for Tajh in the NFL !!

I like TB and appreciate his play at Clemson. He is a great representative of our school and a really good QB. I also don't believe he is a franchise NFL QB.

Who the hell is this guy? News flash homeboy, nobody gives a crap what you think, the actual NFL teams will make the decisions. Tajh hasn't had a whole lot of production around him this year, did you see that on film Bucky boy? He can't do it all by himself.

O line has let him down recently - he has missed too many open receivers targeting Sammy - was spoiled with Nuk last year, but even then he had other receivers who took the pressure off, thie year he is relying on Sammy too much. I really hope he rebounds back to early season form like the Georgia game especially!

You are kidding right. Put Tajh in his conference and their schedule and he is just as good or probably better. The only team they have played with a pulse this year is UCF that Louisville beat by 3pts. Connecticut and Syracuse beat them in 2012, and most all the small fries give them a good game in 2012. I guess Tajh should have played for UCF. He could have been an Exactly NFL franchise QB!!!

Intriguing but I don't see him being anymore than a little more talented passer than Tebow without the leadership qualities. Mariota could be be the best in the class but he's hard to judge in that offense.

I agree. I don't see Boyd as more than a backup.
Oct 29, 2013, 11:34 PM
|
|
He's too inconsistent from game to game. He doesn't go through his progressions. He stares down his preferred receiver. In the pocket he senses pressure that's not there and then scrambles too early. He doesn't read defenses and adjust well. (FSU killed him on blitzes because he didn't adjust.) I also have a feeling that he's not going to measure well at the combine.

Our O line got Tajh killed. Give Tajh a short 5 seconds, and he will pick a team apart with more than one receiver that can catch the ball. I guess some will decide Tajh's skills as a QB when receivers will DROP the ball out of their hands. Thats Tajh's fault I guess, he should have coached his receivers how to catch a FB. That is the QB's job right, to coach and recruit receivers that can run correct routes and catch. Tajh should have also done a much better job in recruiting a bigger and better O line. I mean didn't he know he wanted to play in the NFL when He was recruiting and coaching his players. All the negativity deserves him right for not doing a better job with recruiting and with his coaching abilities don't you think. NO BODY wants Clemson to win all our games more than Tajh Boyd. I'm positive that if Tajh had a Bama type O line, He would have had us/Clemson in the NCG these last two years with an average defense. Championships are won by good teams, and not with parts of a good team.

Good college QB, but not pro
Oct 30, 2013, 7:44 AM
|

Inconsistent and inaccurate. That is a bad combination. In college he can get away with it, but the pros won't tolerate it. I doubt he makes it past training camp.
BUT I am glad he is our QB. He handles himself well, and is a good representative of the university. He has won games for us, and we are a better team with him at QB.

He isn't. Tajh is average at best. He ##### the bed when he gets rushed. I would rather have Conner Shaw over him any day. This is coming from a senior at Clemson, so don't call me a coot. That's just the cold hard facts.

Maybe Tajh won't turn out to be a good NFL QB. But he has played great in college, and has been consistent with his play. He is 1000 times more consistent than EJ Manual or Geno Smith. By the way, been watching the NFL for years and have never heard of Bucky Brooks.

Kind of ironic how Tajh Boyd's stats are close to identical
Oct 30, 2013, 6:23 PM

to Peyton Manning's stats at UT. Not saying Tajh is going to be another Peyton. So I guess Manning was inconsistent in college, by Bucky Brooks logic. But if Tajh is inconsistent, then there aren't many QB's in college that are.

I'm not necessarily agreeing with the analyst, but TB's impressive career stats don't reflect his consistency. I think the majority of Clemson fans would admit that Tajh has been very inconsistent this year. He's had bad stretches in his career before this year as well.
