Go to 2:30 if you need your “just didn’t make shots” fix for the day. If you miss that, don’t worry… he makes many more references to missing “open” shots. You’ll hear plenty.

Technically you need to score in basketball and to do that you need to make shots. Pretty simple concept. You really have to make shots.

It’s a passive/ aggressive way of blaming the players. I’ve been there, I had a terrible coach once I would tell the team “ I can’t put the ball in the goal for you” then he resigned the next season. It’s not the players, and it’s not missing shots, the basket is the same size on both sides. If your team is shooting cold, a good coach makes adjustments and goes inside, however Brad does nothing

and it is maddening to see and hear it over and over again.
It’s like he just throws his hands up and thinks ”oh well…once again it’s not our night…but I can just say our players sucked and we’ll move on to the next one.”

I thought the defensive adjustment Brownell made during the game last night was brilliant, going full court press there, with two minutes left in the game, and us down 20. Powerful stuff. X and O genius he is.
Go Tigers.

As "valley boy" pointed out, you just have bad games in bball. True. Look at Baylor, they lost. But it's different when it's systemic.
I looked at the teams that beat ND, they didn't shoot a ton of 3's. Statistically we've been shooting the 3 good. However, a caveat, we haven't been shooting a ton lately. We've played good when we went inside out. True nd played zone, but that's when adjustments have to be made.
Why did Tyson only play 20 minutes? He actually was one of few shooting good. We shot 16 3's each half. Why so many in first half. Hall and Tyson is our ticket. Honor shoots 30% 3's. He's a good game manager, have him do that.
Simple point. People say Brad's a great x and o man. Say he's great at dissecting matchups. I don't see it. He's definitely not a good recruiter. It's like Jekyll and Hyde.

Tyson sprained and ankle on Thursday

In the post game interview Brownell said Tyson sprained his ankle on Thursday and had been spending time with the trainer nonstop since then to get ready for the game. So that’s why he only played 20 minutes last night

Thank you. I missed that. I stand corrected. Listened on the radio but I guess I missed that part as I turned it on at the 18 minute mark. Might be why we did what we did... Still, it always seem to be some excuse.
We act like football coots. Every year we say well we played some good games so it looks like we've turned the corner... Then it's we got so and so coming in next year, so next year we should be better. But that next year doesn't ever seem to come.
It's been said that Brad's a great defensive coach. Then why is it 10-12 losses a year our team plays bad defense that night? That's the same as saying Will muscoot is a brilliant defensive coach. Yet, their team kept losing because the other teams scored more points.

This team is really fun to watch, what with all the Clemson grit and all.
I really wish the fans could get behind him and also we need better facilities.
He’d do better if you paid him more.
You guys aren’t real Clemson fans if you don’t love the Brad.
Did I miss any?

At least it wasn’t a nail biter to just collapse at the end. Heck, we were never really in it.

1 tournament in the last 10 full seasons. Brad has gone to the tournament 1 time since he has been at Clemson with his players. I don't count that 10 win shortened season. So he 1 time to the tournament. The guy has to go. We can do that with any coach. WHat do we have to lose?

I don't think I have ever witnessed another team that shoots the ball as inconsistently as Clemson has under Brownell.
These long scoring droughts, that seem to occur more often than not, have been the most consistent aspect of Brownell's teams.

Sometimes shots don’t go in - but it is that way for all teams. The difference is it seems our team is simply told to keep shooting the same ones being missed. 18% from 3. Lots of coaches, then adjust to either drive the ball to get fouled, get to the hoop for layups, get their bigs more shots, or add rebounders to track down missed shots. Last night - our team shot 51.7% from 2 pt and 18% from 3. Would it not have been a good idea to go inside? Get fouled or take the 51.7 option. I have always thought that the best teams were “inside then outside” teams. BB has consistently been “outside then outside then outside and if the rebound is inside then shoot it inside”. Great when the 3’s go in, and bad droughts when they don’t. PJ is a very good inside guy (and has range). That being said, thru 12 seasons - why has BB not developed an inside game (not a single player) with scoring ability? Other than a couple, the bigs he recruited transfer out. Inside opens up outside. At least that’s what I believe. Inside creates fouls, layups and better percentage shots. Good talent on this team. Hate that it is not winning in a absolutely abysmal ACC talent year. 9th position in conference where only 1 team in the ACC is ranked (gotta be a first ever), where in early January - only one team has less than 4 losses. Where 11 of the 15 have more than 5 losses. Where the ACC is 5 wins 19 losses against ranked teams.

Maybe the constant missing of open shots is because the players we have don't shoot well?
Maybe plan for that and do something different?

They didn't defend that well either last night. They also are very sloppy with the ball even before they hope to have a chance for a shot. Other than that, everything is looking good.
