bridge just north of 12 mile park over Hartwell, between Clemson and DHS. My daughter is friends with one the sister of one of them.
Though times. Apparently 1 jumped in after the 1st didn't resurface.

That's terrible. I wonder what caused them to drown. Drunk? Knocked out? That is awful.

Alcohol can disorient one, so that even good swimmers sometimes swim down instead of swimming up.
However, not sure alcohol is involved in this tragedy.
It’s very sad no matter the cause.

those bridges is many time remnants of the old bridge or metal pieces from the construction of the bridge.
We used to jump off one all the time at Lake Chatuge. Then one year a dude got impaled by a piece of rebar. We never jumped again.

When you jump off a bridge and maybe it’s only 15 feet deep you crash into the rocks and such underneath.

Deep ends of pools are 12 feet and you could go off a 3M high dive with a massive spring and not come close to the bottom. I’ve jumped off an 80 ft cliff and maybe went 10 feet under.
