The hate didn't jump out at you? Serious Clark??
The scout had the audacity to say that Williams may not be a star!!!!!
How dare he. ESPN must have told the scout to say such a thing.

Sounded to me like there was love for Gallman but a little slight towards MW7. Receivers do not have to possess lightning speed to be good, or great in the NFL, especially if they have the size and physicality of Williams. Nuk and Alshon come to mind. Both have great hands and can win the one on one battles, but neither has blazing speed. Think Williams will translate very well from college to The League.

The #7 player taken in the draft should be more than good

I think the people who are "upset" are seeing the predictions that Mike will be a Top-10 selection and then seeing anonymous comments that he might turn out to be merely "good" as a pro.
Personally, I think we've seen several of our 1st round draft choice WRs of the past like Jerry Butler, Perry Tuttle, have the speed but not the durability for the pros. Lately another speedster, Sammy Watkins has also been injury prone.
Slower guys like Nuk and now Mike Williams might just be the ones that have the staying power to build really solid careers.

Our HC wasnt blowing smoke when he said MW is the most complete

WR to come out since he's been here. If he knows anything, its WR's. MW to me is the total package. He has the prototypical height and weight. I would put a large sum that he runs a 4.55 or better. He has hreat hands, can make very difficult catches ( some downright amazing), body control, vertical, great at high pointing the ball, strength (ask Sakerlina) makes catches in traffic on slants, runs great routes, YAC ability, he has it all.
He will be the #1 receiver from day one depending on where he goes.
I think he has an incredible combination of atributes. He is not Martavis Bryant fast but fast enough. He has body control and hands like Nuk, has prototypical height and weight.
Last year Laquan Treadwell was widely considered the best WR in the draft. Mike Williams, IMO, is far and away better than Treadwell.
Whoever drafts MW, is getting a true #1 WR. Imagine him going to a team like Atlanta, where.he would be #2, but paired with Julio Jones. That would be pick your poison.
No, I'm not an "expert" but I know what I see and I know MW will not be a star in the NFL, he will be a superstar. Has he ever matched up with a corner that could cover him? Not that I've seen. From day 1 of preseason and on, he's going to win far more battles than the guy covering.

"runs great routes"....

for those not inclined to read between the lines
I think this is the issue that is being highlighted by the scout.
and for those comparing MW to Nuk,
this is the thing that they're glossing over -
just how good Nuk is for creating separation -
not just "running routes".
It's two different things, and MW will have to learn to be better at in the NFL.
i.e. one of the reasons MW's ball skills are so evident is that even at the college level
he's not yet creating space with great timing to ball arrival.
apparently the scout thinks he'll learn it though once he steps up.
