It occurred to me this AM that had Hamlin’s event happened elsewhere, say the practice field

or in the backyard raking leaves, or in any other environment, he may be dead now.
The fact that this happened at an NFL game with medical professionals, EMT’s, an ambulance, and most of all immediate treatment and transport to a state of the art medical facility may have saved his life.

It happens... Rarely, but it happens. It has not become an epidemic. You can't fix every problem in any sport.

that would reduce the injuries in baseball. They are illegal's in middles school, high school, colege, minor leagues, dixie youth, little league already. Not sure about Cal Ripken and babe ruth leagues
I don't know what to do in football to further reduce what happened last night. That was as close to the softest tackle you can make.
