I know a lot of you guys have made the trip up to BC, my dad and I are heading up to Boston next Wednesday for the Army/Navy game. What are your recommendations for food, fun, and things to see and do and some things to stay away from?

Yankee Lobster little hole in the wall place right off the Harbor is a great lunch spot. Lobster Rolls are great!

Freedom trail was cool. Faneuil Hall Marketplace has plenty of food options including lobster. Of course Fenway is a awesome ball park.

Get a Connecticut lobster roll (lobster in hot butter). Black Rose near Faneuil Hall is cool. British Beer Company is a great local chain of restaurants.

Walking the freedom trail is fun and you see a lot of local history. I used to start at the USS Constitution in Charlestown and work my way backwards.

Also there are tons of local breweries if you are into craft beer.

Boston and all of New England is full of history, soak it all in.

Several recommendations.

Do a Boston Duck Tour. Yes, it’s really touristy, but it is a great way to see the city. You go on land and on water. Really fun!

I also recommend the Freedom Trail. You get to see a ton of history (and get your steps in).

Check out the North End. Great restaurants, especially Italian.

Fenway Park. You have to as a sports fan, even if it’s just seeing it for 5 minutes.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Quincy Market. Neat vendors for shopping and eating.

Harvard. Main campus is in Cambridge. Medical campus is in Longwood area in Boston. Both are worth checking out.

You simply must go to Mike's Pastry and get a cannoli...or a boston creme pie donut.
That's down in the Italian restaurant row, so getcha some real Italian (cash only at every restaurant)
Also, the duck boat tour is a lot of fun and a great overview of the town.
Of course, Cheers is a great experience.
And, finally, go see Fenway (easily accessible by the subway) There's a bar that you can go into to see the inside of the stadium (forget the name, but it's close to the green monster)
have fun

try to stay at the brookline mariott-close to transportation.the T is right outside the front door and will take you right up to BC.not far from fine arts and gardner-both excellent museums.fenway is closeby also.legal seafood has several locations around the city and pizzaria regina in the north end.plenty of choices to fill in time around the game.went to several Army-Navy games a while back.get to the game early,so you can enjoy the pagentry.almost as much fun as the game itself.have a great trip and post your experience when you get back.

I lived within 30 miles of Boston a total of 15 years: RI in the 1980s and NH from 1996 to 2004. There are countless numbers of interesting things in the area. My first suggestion is take warm clothes because the humid cold is severe.

A couple of great historical things have not been mentioned, but you will need a car. I always loved visiting Plymouth and touring Mayflower II and Plymouth Plantation. The Pilgrim reenactors are great and tell the story.

Another favorite is Lexington and Concord where the Revolutionary War began. When I lived there, the visitation center at Lexington had the best historical video I have ever seen. Paul Revere didn't finish his ride. British soldiers captured him between Lexington and Concord, took his horse, and made him walk back to Lexington. The video tells the story of the day long battle with 4K Patriots attacking 2K British soldiers and running them back to Boston.

Enjoy Boston, but expect to meet some rude people, especially if you fly into Logan Airport.

If you are a craft beer lover Trillium in Four Points is a must. Sam Adams tour is fun too. Row 34 has an awesome (but pricy) hot lobster roll and great beer selection too.

It is located very close to the Boston Tea Party ship and museum. Trust me when I tell you, you will thoroughly enjoy it.

Go and take the Fenway tour. It’s around $25 and it takes a couple of hours, but it is a must.
