it has nothing to do with sides, it has to do with a certain president's actions and behaviors that got him banned from FB and Twitter. If I run into a crowded movie theatre and yell FIRE with the sole intent to cause chaos, there stands a pretty good chance I will not be allowed back into that theatre ever again. People who abuse social media platforms for their own destructive causes are no different.

Private companies can choose who their members are and what is appropriate usage for their platform, they are NOT required to play safe harbor for your first amendment rights any more so than a book publisher is required to print your material if they do not think it will sell. I am not allowed to walk into your home and tell you what the rules of your house are.. In fact when you click "I agree" to their policies when signing up for said social media platforms, all those rules are clearly laid in front of you with an option to print them if you like, before clicking "I agree".

You like rules, correct?

I have not been keeping track of all of them, did they do or say things to get them banned, like propagate destructive lies, or was it for no apparent reason? Honestly, I do not pay any attention to, nor participate in social media, so I have no dog in this fight.

here is Twitter's term's of service, I imagine they cover their behinds pretty well on this. In principle, I agree with most of you guys about monopolies abusing their power, I would love a great example of when this happened.

I wasn't so bothered by the auto fact-check tags, especially in light of all of the BS floating around. At least those tags offered the reader a chance to make up their own mind, and/or do their own fact-finding.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jul 15, 2021, 4:45 PM

so like Robert Plant said, I'm gone ramble on...

I'm not sure what this has to do with Trump. The people who select our Uniparty politicians control the narrative through the media conglomerates that they also own.

The state isn't who's sitting in the white house. It's who's shaking this ####### jar.

I'm a pretty economics / financially driven dude. If you ever need to find an answer to anything, follow the money. Follow where the money's coming from in donations, and who's making the most profit. 9,999 times out of a thousand, it's not you or I. And we're not talking a few hundred grand. In today's terms we're talking billions in wealth being redistributed.

What policies implemented by either colored ant have benefited society as a whole? What has the Uniparty done in the past 3 decades where they put the success of the average American citizen at the forefront of their decision making process, and not prioritized the majority shareholders?

Maybe I'm way off base here, but I've been under the impression that we as Americans have had about zero say with respect to how our country is run over the past 3 or 4 decades.

Social media outlets are a mechanism for us pleebs to communicate. Share ideas. Discuss topics. And most recently, sling mud and hate each other. It's pretty proven, and blatantly obvious, that any time a notion of dissent against the Establishment becomes popular, it's getting shut the #### down.

Now - I will say, Trump exploited this. He became who he was because of social media. They will never let that happen again.

So again, cherry pick an incident to fit your stance. I'm cool with that...that's your right bro. flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jul 16, 2021, 12:39 PM

it's no big deal, it's just confusing for someone to seemingly have such a strong opinion about a very specific issue, but no way to really explain the basis for that opinion.

I have a pretty healthy dose of general distrust of government, especially at the federal level...but that can't logically be used as a support for me to claim the federal government is doing whatever evil thing I can dream up.

Also, you asking me to prove you wrong is a pretty basic logical fallacy.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ay yai yai

Jul 16, 2021, 2:09 PM

c'mon man - no way to explain the basis for that opinion? I'm not as flexible as you with respect to my mental gymnastics of explaining away what this administration has said just this past week, much less some of the revelations that have been published and discussed since the Snowden leaks.

If we're not aligning on the common knowledge of government collusion with social media entities (which you already agreed that the surgeon general was involved), then we're likely not going to see eye to eye. So let's disagree and commit to move forward.

My one tirade about the alphabet boys was dramatic and ridiculous - I'll concede that - but that's the slippery slope that I'm alluding to.

I also don't understand how you determine where the logical fallacy lies.
My claim: state sponsored corporate media entities
WH Secretary: we're working with social media entities (in an interview)
You: That doesn't count.
Me:

You: didn't read it
Me:

You: logical fallacy

But...if that's how you wanna end it, I'm cool with that. You still haven't proven me wrong though bro <img border=">">.

Might be a bit of hyperbole for sure, but there sure were a lot of recounts when the vote margin wasn't inside of an automatically triggered recount. I sure don't recall an election like that in my lifetime.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jul 16, 2021, 12:43 PM

If you have garbage ballots, then no amount of re-counting them will correct the problem.

I take issue with the "high standard" comment because countless election laws and procedures were laxed, not followed, or disregarded during this election.

If the initial election was truly held to a high standard, the scrutiny wouldn't be needed.

I don't expect us to reach any agreement on this... I am way too skeptical of anything the goverment (repub/dem/uniparty) does.

I am fine with extending the voting times and all that - to make it easier to vote.

I am 100% against voting without state ID being provided. That is pure insanity. Each ballot should be a physical piece of paper that is tied to the voter. Saying that blacks aren't smart enough to get ID, or gays are too limp-wristed to sign a paper ballot or poor country people don't know how to use a copy machine are just pure garbage. I literally know two retarded brothers who ride their bikes around Lexington all day. They live in a house with their retarded mama. All three of them have state issued IDs. Disenfranchised my ###.

As far as volunteers going in to nursing homes and "helping them" fill out ballots and other such crap - I don't like it, but I don't know that there's much to be done about it. It's a propaganda tactic used by kingdoms since

Jul 16, 2021, 12:24 PM

the fertile crescent.

If facts do not show what you want them to show then you change the facts to fit what you want.

Then you repeat it enough until people think it's true.

Then when the opposer fact checks, you go after the fact checking.

At the end of the day you have the population unsure of what the facts are at worse.

This Trump faction has become so good at propaganda that they get their population to actively go against the fact checkers.

And why?

Because reality does not conform to what they think.

So now, thanks to intense propaganda, we have a section of our population that puts their whole trust into one person and one set of facts and you literally can not bring enough information to them for them to change their minds.

Because their truth is not rooted in reality and they do not have the mental capacity to change

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I like your funny words magic man

I will give you a little bit of credit

Jul 16, 2021, 12:56 PM

because I know we're on different playing fields with respect to intellectual capabilities and our capacities to understand super complex situations at a high level with an unbiased perspective.

You're only half right, though. You said we have half our country (my deduction - you said section) who puts their whole trust into this one entity (for now it's the orangutan). I won't argue that. I, too, disagree with a lot of what this faction says, does, projects, etc.

But on the other side of the equation, the same level of blind loyalty and trust is displayed by another significant faction in this country to what they feel is an opposite entity.

Why is that? Because 95% of Americans (well, people in general) don't have their truths rooted in reality and don't have the mental capacity to change. They're more interested in confirming what they believe and enjoy hearing. This is why our issues have become exacerbated with the introduction of social media - those serotonin releases and feelings are fueled by algorithms instead of open discussion and human interaction. Now, what happens when the feelings and serotonin releases and be played like guitar strings by those who own their source code?

The fact that you speak so passionately about how kingdoms have leveraged tools of propaganda to control masses, and then completely dial in a faction of this country who is at fault for said propaganda, is a perfect example of how propaganda is working.

I know you're not big on reading, so here's a picture:

This guy named Plato - super old cat from the days when this island country ruled the world and thought of things like democracy, free trade, geometry, etc. - had this notion that people are more or less slaves, chained to their respective position in this cave. And that they were forced to look at this wall, where shadows were projected from a light behind them. To the prisoner, the shadows are the reality.

There's obviously more to it, but I've exhausted my time here.

The point is, the vast majority of human beings are chained slaves in this cave, down here arguing over these shadows, pointing fingers, and spewing hatred over what amounts to a heaping pile of ####### ########. When the reality is, there is a layer above us displaying the objects to cast the shadows through the light.
