Traffic getting in today was horrible

Where were the troopers at the major intersections where they were needed? I will say that getting out was a breeze, but I suspect that's more due to the fact that a lot of people stuck around to tailgate a bit more.

There was a story posted about a month ago about them doing a traffic study for the first two games. They were to make some changes to see if it was a better fit to manage traffic. After the first two games, they would decide if the new or old way is better.
The way I see it, it is always going to be horrible. It's a small town that is getting a ton of people crammed into it.

Whatever they did after the game I hope they continue. I know the exodus was staggered but it seemed to be smooth. Going out via 93, they used to use all 4 lanes until you hit the intersection at presidents house. Then they forced all 4 lanes into 1 lane. Now they use all four lanes until you get past 76. They divided the lanes with cones and had them labeled for 76, 123, and the 2 oncoming lanes were used by those going to central. It was really nice since we go up 93 to go home.
Coming in for the game I have no idea what they were doing. They were only using 2 lanes of 93, and had both lanes completely stopped in front of lot 1, didn't let anyone move, there was no traffic coming up 93 and none at the intersection at Williamson rd. Then all of a sudden they opened up the 2 oncoming lanes for 1 way traffic and people started leapfrogging around us. Which sucked Cus everyone in the two right lanes that had been stopped were trying to get to lot 1, lot 2, and Williamson rd. Al that said we left Anderson at 8:25 and we were setting up the tent by 9:10.
I guess it's good they are figuring it with these two games before we get to ND. Part of me is praying for a 330 game so that I don't get home after midnight, possibly 1am, and I will be living in Clemson by then!

always will.
Even back during my days at Clemson in the 60's, when 30,000 or so would attend, people griped about traffic, which then was made much worse by the number of mule-drawn wagons loaded with good, ole Clemson folks armed with shotguns and shine. The shotguns were for use against our opponents; the shine was for intestinal fortification. lol

Never sit in major traffic. Anything closer to kickoff than 3 hours, you are rolling the dice.
Especially with the 12:30 start.

Easy answer but not always possible. Many loyal fans have other important daily responsibilities that don't allow an early morning departure.
The "Plan" was horrible. 2 inbound lanes in gridlock with multiple virtually empty outbound lanes. Troopers sitting in their cruisers daydreaming. 50 minutes from Pendleton BiLo to my parking space!!! No excuses are acceptable - bad execution!

Marking, Punching Area passes slowed things down.

The marking and punching of the area passes slowed things down. Somehow they need multiple people marking or mark them as the cars park or something. It slowed things into Lot 13. I can imagine it caused the problem going into Lot 1 too.

Noon games are a nightmare if you live more than 75 miles out. The only solution is to leave at/before dawn or get a hotel room in town. I don't know if traffic lights and troopers will help much. The slowdown happens at the parking areas.
