Tough times now for you young guys..........

Sep 27, 2021, 3:04 PM

I know a lot of you guys are young to the point where you may not remember us having a bad season, etc. But I've been watching us since 1964 or so and remember a lot of bad times over the years.

Let's just have confidence that Dabo will make the right moves and get us back to where we have gotten used to being.

But just be thankful for the past 10 years or so. I don't think anybody my age, etc. ever realistically thought we'd become the consistent national power we've been recently. Everything's relative depending on your age.

How true. I returned from my first tour of duty in Vietnam in 1969 in time for the CU-USC ball game. We did not do good if I remember correctly. Poured rain and my ticket allowed me to sit on the hill. Been some down years, some not so good years and some outstanding years since that game. But, I still support the Tigers.

Agree with the other old timers. Had one great year at Clemson in 66 and a very low draft number sent me into USAF. Never made it back to Clemson for school but never left there in my heart. Goof years and bad I will always enjoy following Clemson Football. Get us going Dabo.

Graduated in '95. To say the least, these new age Tiger fans just have no idea.

I saw UVA beat us for the 1st time in Death Valley ever! Have seen more than my share of Ga Tech and BC losses. I honestly thought Matt Ryan would never graduate.

Sat through the blowout against Syracuse in the Gator Bowl in the rain.

NC State on a Thursday night on ESPN. Turned into a blowout in the rain. They retuned an onside kick for a TD I believe. I think this was the 1st Thursday night game in Death Valley. Cannot remember for sure, but it some significance.

Watched way too many FSU beat downs after they joined the league. At that time we were the fanbase that "wished" we could play with the big boys of college football like we did in the old days with Danny Ford.

We are going to be fine Tiger fans. We might lose a few more games than expected this year, but Dabo is a smart guy. He realizes changes will be required.

Keep this in mind, even Brady and Belichick went from 2004 until 2014 without a Superbowl win. Does not seem possible, but the greatest QB and arguably coach in the history of the NFL went a full decade without a championship. Winning in football is hard. Dabo will do what is necessary to correct the problems.
