Valerie pitched well enough to get a W but unable to get any run support but Tennessee is a tough team.

We have a young program, but our inability to score against quality pitching is becoming the norm. This is once again a regional host team, but not good enough to make CWS in OKC. Looks to be tbe same team from last year. Ride Cagle into tbe ground. If she doesn't pitch a shutout and hit a HR we lose!

I recall a game 2 days ago that that was not the case…. You hold the same narrative every single time they lose a game even if it isn’t the issue

Against NC State . They are ranked #33. We are a solid team, not elite. That is tbe same narrative! Same as last year. Go look up how wins against top 10 teams do we have in tbe last 3 seasons. Better yet look at W-L against teams in tbe top 15. We are relatively new program, but as everyone sees, we are a one-trick pony!! Those are the facts and the numbers support it.

Point being there are days where Cagle has it like today and the rest of the team doesn’t, and days the team has it and cagle doesn’t. I’m not saying this is an elite team, but it’s not a complete one man show. Cagle is elite and there’s usually only one really elite player on a team, so stop acting like the rest of the team are all bums

Wrong. Against elite competition, not average teams, it is a one man show. Just this year you have UGA, Tenn., Miss St, & Missouri as your prime examples.

How about Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Duke in past seasons. Again Cagle is elite and that only comes around once in a while, but the others aren’t nobodies, everyone just chooses to overshadow them because of how good Valerie is

just go silent against good pitching once again. Never even really got a rally going against the Vols. Congrats to them, and I suspect we will see them again, the postseason matchmakers seem to love this matchup.

What is the softball program going to do when Cagle is gone? Every loss is pretty much the game story. We can't hit good pitching. Rittman is going to need to improve recruiting or get some elite players in the portal.

The more and more I have see these kinda stellar pitching outings outta Valerie Cagle where her teammates don't do their part in getting the win for the team as well as for Valerie Cagle the more I dread next season when there will be no Valerie Cagle to have carry the team on her back

Valerie will be a huge loss to this team no doubt. She has lost so many 1-0 or 2-1 type of games, do not know the number but she has also won her fair share of those games that allowed our Tigers to win.
Hopefully we can get on track as season progresses and warm up the bats!!

That pitcher for Tenn. is the real deal. Even so Tigers had their chances. I am afraid until they bring in better offensive players they’re just not good enough offensively to beat the better competition. It seems to be the same old story. They pitch well enough to win but the offense can’t find a way to get it done.
