Man what a miss on talent evaluation. Wasn’t just us. He was highly coveted and anyone would have taken him straight out of high school. He’s different than Mike Bellamy. MB had the talent. He was just an idiot. Bowman just isnt that good.

His HS numbers were insane, and he played at a pretty big Florida High School. I thought he was going to be a great RB in college….. Totally missed on that one.

I don't think it's a talent gap...he's gotten nearly no carries to this point and that's probably got alot to do with the fact he's one of the kids whose never not started and he doesn't know how to earn playing time. He's probably not standing out in drills, film room, etc. (Due to lack of effort) and college coaches just can't justify putting him on the field over other veteran players. I imagine someone will eventually start him and he'll have a good year but I think he's basically lost his chance at a NFL future unless he rushes for like 1500 yards next year.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Never had to "bring it" so to speak to see the field.
With other players who practice harder and work harder in the weight room and pay attention to details: "as you said, probably hard to justify putting him on the field a ton"!

Effort and attitude are just as important as ability. He’ll be a great addition to his own fantasy football team.

What's odd is that his playing time is so limited but his YPC is very high

There has to be a reason he is not seeing the field.

Well we should have never named Bowman Field out front for him to get him to sign. (Its a joke people). Below is the reastory from the Clemson Vault:
"The field in front of the “Main Building” served as home of Clemson’s early football, baseball, track and even basketball teams. It was named in honor of Randolph T. V. Bowman (August 1, 1875-April 14, 1899). He was an instructor in forge and foundry at Clemson from February 1895 to April 1899, just after the college opened in 1889. Bowman was best known for his association with college athletics, serving as the first baseball coach and one of the first assistant football coaches. Bowman was credited with clearing parts of the area in front of the “Main Building” (Tillman Hall) and making it suitable to play baseball and other sports. Bowman, who served as the first baseball coach, died at the young age of 23 in 1899. The college was devastated and saddened by this loss. It was decided shortly after his death to name the area in front of Tillman Hall, Bowman Field in 1899 in his honor."

Keep reading...it clearly says that the Main Building is Tillman Hall, twice, later in the paragraph.

Actually the story is written as if it were back in the day well before it was named Tillman Hall therefore the reason it says "Main Building" as was its name at the time. Totally correct reporting.

I wonder if anyone has ever done any research correlating the number of times a player transfers with their success at the next level… Meaning, do they even make it out of college as an athlete, do they get a shot at the NFL, or are they usually relegated to some, minor league like XFL or arena football ?

I think there are still a lot of players that transfer because
1

they aren't good enough to earn significant playing time at their current school / level of football. Players transferring down are just inherently less likely to play in the NFL because the vast majority aren't NFL caliber football players regardless of where they play.
Those players are going to skew the data quite alot if you are trying to find out if players with actual NFL ability are less likely to make it to the next level if they transfer.

I live in Lakeland Florida. Saw him a few times when he expressed interest in Clemson. As someone else stated, there has to be something else. The kid was a stud. What a waste of talent as time is running out for him.

I remember watching film on this kid when he was in high school. He looked like a man among boys. I was thrilled when we got him but ETN was firmly in place as running back and it seemed that a lack of playing time and some homesickness caused him to leave for Florida. I figured he would shine there but he didn’t. I hope he can straighten out whatever his problems are and become successful. His time to excel is indeed growing short. I don’t think he lacks talent.

Not willing to work for it. A Transfer Portal Princess! Transferring to 4 D1 schools in 4yrs is ridiculous and there has to be some restrictions to this type of abuse. Roster management is a nightmare.

So does this make him a Tiger 3 times removed? At this point I care more about a recruit who took a visit and committed somewhere else than where a kid who transferred only to transfer from whence he transferred to and once again transfer himself only to transfer once more

Wondering out loud; if he has a good support system? Or if he has someone in his corner who still remembers him "from H.S."? That person isn't going to push him to work harder to see the field. Or to make sure you know the plays Demarckus! Or make sure you are making your workouts Demarckus! That person is probably selfish and thinking about how it's going to be "for them" when he makes it to the league(based off what he did in H.S.).
Problem is: He isn't in H.S. anymore and working your behind off now matters in order to be a star at the college level.
