Guy rear-ended on interstate in a disabled vehicle.

Engineer pulled the data and ran it and the vehicle went from 0 to 36mph the instant it was hit. I have an inside video from the vehicle when it happened, but you don't want to see it.

Made the mistake of getting too close to one when I was 13 or so and a big whiff of unburnt nitromethane in the exhaust about knocked me out. No clue how those mechanics hover over that stuff all day.

Accelerating that quickly on tires that are street legal (and last more than 5k miles) without acceleration-killing wheel spin is going to be incredibly difficult.
A few modern cars now make the power required to do that feat but can’t put the power to the ground effectively enough to do so.
