The Tigers' first game will be against Liberty, with Clemson holding the higher seed. If they were to win, their next opponent would be Vanderbilt, SEC champion and one of the four 1-seeds.

Stanford was also a 1-seed. Here's the full list of ACC teams that got in:
1. Notre Dame 1. Stanford 1. Virginia 2. Duke 3. Florida State 6. Louisville 7. Wake Forest 8. Clemson ns North Carolina
Georgia gets in as an 8-seed against Ohio State. They'd play Notre Dame next, assuming the Irish don't lose to UIC.

The 1 notable "snub," perhaps, from the ACC is Cal, who finished the regular season at 8th in the conference. But they had a less-than-stellar nonconference schedule and performance, so that's probably what did them in. NC State was tied with us for 10th, but they were horrific in the noncon, going 1-5-2. And most of that wasn't against great competition, either. So they were never really in consideration to begin with due to that. Everyone else who was in the mix in the ACC made it. I heard an analyst say he expected there to be 10 ACC teams, and we ended up with 9, so that was pretty accurate. Clemson's great strength of schedule, both in and out of conference, really helped them out. I had found 1 bracketologist earlier who did a good breakdown, and he seemed to think Clemson would be in the tournament fairly comfortably, with a good chance to be seeded as well. ( https://rpiford1wsoccer.blogspot.com/ ) So his projection ended up being pretty accurate as well. I was worried that our conference finish and conference record might not quite be good enough, especially when considering just how crowded the ACC is, but fortunately that was not the case. There again, the excellent RPI and SOS made up for that. All in all, I think this was a very good draw for the Tigers considering our regular season performance, as well as what the analysts expected our seed to be.
