To address any confused UGAy dawgs out there...

I rewatched the 4th Quarter of the LSwho game to help clarify a confused mangy dawg as to whether LSwho actually suffered ‘injuries’ or faked them to manage the clock. He apparently does not believe our O can actually wear down an opposing D…so here we go:
*In the 4th quarter, LSwho first had Mills go down with a recurring injury at 14:41 with LSwho ahead 24-13.
*Injury to LSwho's Barrow at 13:02 after getting hammered by one of his own teamates making a tackle on Nuk. Still 24-13
*At 3:47 to go in the fourth, 24-16, yet another injury. After an incomplete pass to Nuk, STOPPING the clock, LSwho’s Simon goes down with an injury. This injury does not help LSwho with clock management.
*Another ‘injury’ to LSwho’s Ewards at the 1:34 mark. This ‘injury’ was after an incomplete pass…clock was stopped…no advantage in clock management for LSwho.
*After Tajh completes a pass to Nuk as he goes out of bounds, stopping the clock, yet another LSwho ‘injury/cramp’ at the :52 second mark to LSwho’s Sam Montgomery. No clock management necessary.
Soon afterwards, the commentator provides the audience with a rhetorical question, “This is play 97 for Clemson…you don’t think LSU’s defense is gassed?”
*After an incomplete pass to Nuk at the :47 mark…yes, stopping the clock, another LSwho defender goes down in Reid. This was after, of course, Reid provided some good pass interference. No benefit to clock management.
*At the :21 second mark, Craig Loston kneels appearing gassed after Clemson makes a completion to Humphries for approx 8 yards, a few short of the first down. The clock would have continued to run as Clemson scrambles to line up and run the ball to the center of the field for the Cat man and then call a time out. This ‘injury,’ while stopping the clock, provided no benefit to LSwho as far as clock management goes. It actually benefited Clemson as they huddled to plan and discuss their next play.
Commentator says, “At a hundred plays…you can’t have anything left.”
The rest is history…
So in summary, I don’t think these seven ‘injuries’ in the 4th quarter helped LSU with clock management. I’m not sure of the rules, but perhaps if LSwho could substitute players after supposedly faking an injury, then faking would make sense. Otherwise, these players simply look worn down late in the 4th and any assumptions that these injuries were used to “manage the clock” seem nonsensical to me.
Have a great day…mutts.

How many times has Morris' Cu offense recorded 100 plays in a game? You poor tigers have put way too much stock in defeating Lsu. Lsu's lack of offense played a major role in the total number of plays ran by Cu's "O". The tigers will not have the luxury of all those 3 and outs that were courtesy of the Lsu offense.

superdawg51, perhaps you are unable to recognize that one of the reasons, and probably the biggest reason that LSU's offense was "3 and out" a lot, is because Clemson was dominating them on defense. Watched the game again recently and it becomes very clear once you view it without the emotion involved during the actual game, that Clemson was in better shape to "finish" the game, which they did. See you folks in Death Valley in late August!!! Take your vitamins!!!!

And how many of you said LSU's O would look great against us and we'd get manhandled at the line of scrimmage? We heard it all, basically that they're more physical. And look what happened, so of course we're gonna talk. Also, LSU passed for 300 against Bama. That, my friend, is not a bad offense.

What, they are not a mighty SEC defensive powerhouse?

That's all I hear out of you sumbiches till you get your butts handed to you by a real offense. Then "It's not a big deal?"
You and the gamecocks deserve each other.

Wow, did I miss the game where you beat the Gamecocks and showed em a "real offense"? I think UGA is going to bring you fellas back down to earth, at least till you start beating up on the acc again. Then you will come into the game with South Carolina as world beaters and get beat again. "Fear The Thumb"

Isn't Alabama suppose to be the #1 defense in the country...not to mention national champs?
My point is, even the best of them lose. Some games, things just simply don't go your way. You can deflate that ego now...

It's not that. LSU is a powerhouse in the sec and you guys earned a great victory against them. I also think you guys are a very good team and I might even put my money on Clemson come Aug. 31st, but beating LSU in the chick fila bowl is not the end all be all that some clemson fans act like it is. Now bring the hate.

We're not touting it because of the win itself

We're touting it because of how many people counted us out or even made fun of us before the game. We heard it all "Another Orange Bowl is about to happen." "LSU's offense is going to look great against ya'll." "LSU is just too physical of a team for Clemson." "Clemson will sputter out after half time." "Clemson will get manhandled at the line of scrimmage." "Tajh Boyd is going to look horrible back there." And look what happened? We had our 2 best WRs, 2 of our offensive lineman, and half of our secondary out of the game and still won despite the odds we were against. That's why we won't shut up about it, because we proved you all wrong. Go watch this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qnx3bHH8Es) and try to see it from a Clemson fan's standpoint. If you were a Clemson fan, tell me you wouldn't want to punch Lou Holtz in the face after watching this

There is some truth in dawg's post

Our defense played better against LSU than they had all season. How much of that was due to the player, the scheme, additional practice time, LSU's offense playing calling, etc. we don't really know.
On the other hand we spotted them a lot of points so it shouldn't have been as close as it was.
I think our Offense is going to be solid. The key to this game will be our defense getting enough stops for our offense to have a shot. We did it in the LSU game and we didn't in the SC game. With the whole off season to improve (much like the weeks before LSU) and generally better personnel I think our defense will be up to the challenge. They will still make more mistakes than the probably should but I think they will get the ball to our O enough to win.
