Really like hiring an active D1 Coach...

Who had some recent succes there. Almost won 20 games last season. This is like hiring a group of 5 or FCS HC to be a cordinator at power 5 Conf in football. He is known as a strong defensive coach, so that should be improved. Like to know what the details to come to Clemson instead of being a HC at a mid major school.

Donlon’s contract shows an improved commitment to men’s basketball.

This is important. For those of you who repeatedly ask, “What would the extra money spent on the program go toward,” this is one of those areas.

Yep reported on another site that Donlon will be making $450K a year. He was making over $300K at KCMO. Ever paid that much for an assistant in bkball? Curious what other assistants are making in the ACC?

Yes it does. It is also interesting that there is incentive based compensation. Did our previous assistants have that? I like that a lot.

it represents a difference of about $200,00 per year. Are we really saying that at no point prior till right now (despite Neff being a high-ranking member of the athletic department with basketball oversight) was Brownell able to convince anyone that an investment that represents less than 2/10ths of a percent of our athletic budget would be worthwhile? Yet curiously every one of his personal raises was greater than this on an annual basis. But the money just wasn't there! When he finally does get the support the grandiose, out of the box solution is to get the UNC Asheville band back together? Both of them got two-year contracts so that significantly ups the buyout after next season. So, if it isn't dramatic change in trajectory, he just bilked the University for another $1.5 million to stuff in the pockets of his friends.

I bet you’re the kind that rages against “everyone gets a trophy” culture but somehow you don’t care that Eeyore just effectively managed to raise his buyout after next season while making his big move to be the guy he worked with at two Universities decades ago. We could have done this years ago. Somehow getting fleeced by this guy (and we have absolutely been fleeced) is perfectly okay.

Cause he’s that guy in the picture and never had a reason to post. He also loves Brownell and was mad in that snapshot cause he couldn’t get his attention.

I was simply pointing out that you have no idea who the person is in the picture and his opinion of Brownell. On the other hand, I know and stand by my statement.

Scok monsters is they create multiple users they may or may not use over the years to give the “appearance” they’ve been here all along. Stupid coots…
It’s likely Stanley. He knows his current mains Scok is about to get popped…For like the 90th time.

Post season compensation
Apr 25, 2022, 3:31 PM

Ummm.. $10k for acc and $15k for ncaa tourneys? Make it about 50x that much. I'm willing to pony up a couple bucks. Seriously, lets make it a real incentive to win these games. As far as im concerned, put a friggin stamp on that bit. Time to put up or move on down the road, Mr no acc winning, no ncaa play in game winning Brownell.

I have to agree that the incentives for those two coaches isn't enough to make them want to stay 15 minutes extra the finale 5-10 games left of the regular season, and just talking to the team about what they expect of them to get to post season play. If you want to entice a coach to do more to get your team to post season, put numbers out there that excites them, $5-$10 K just ain't gonna do it!!!

Help that man discover some rhythm. Show him the way to unleash his inner groove, that coach to win mentality instead of coaching not to lose. There is a large stick up that man's behind that if removed could unleash a bona fide winner.
#2 See above.

I’m not sure the wonder team that led Wright State to 1 NCAA and 0 NITs of 10 seasons is exactly the secret sauce. We could have just hired Scott Nagy who has taken the same program to two NCAAs and an NIT in 6 seasons.

Time will tell in the season ahead. Doesn't change Job #1 though. The Brad needs some soul. Would be great if some old homeys helped him get comfortable for a change and let loose.

Sounds like this deal bought him a guaranteed two more years so expect him to slough this one off and focus on 23-24.

Comrades united, they should know that expectations are high. If doesn't work then CBB has his comrade for his next move. I hate to sound negative, CBB is a good guy and mentor but I think he met his apex.
