Especially the ones of us who live here in chicken territory and have to put up with all the clucking. So far, I've had 7 years of peace and hope it continues on for 8.

This from the Palmetto Bowl website re the last time we lost, in 2013: “In the highest-ever ranked matchup between the two teams (Clemson #6, South Carolina #10), the Gamecocks secured their fifth straight victory over the Tigers with a score of 31–17. Carolina took advantage of six turnovers by Clemson, including two during punt returns, to secure the victory. The win, at Williams-Brice stadium, marked the Gamecocks’ longest streak versus Clemson in the rivalry’s history.”
That one stunned us and left the chickens strutting for a whole year. Now, they are strutting again, after stomping No. 5 Tennessee.
But they are coming to Clemson, founded in 1889 as an “ag school”. Being practical in nature, the school even had a course in chicken plucking, since most households at that time raised chickens.
Time to pluck some chickens. Go Tiguhs!

It has continued on for 8 years, we missed playing in 2020 that would have been 7 in a row, and 2021 would have been 8 in a row, and this year 2022 would be 9 in a row if we win. But since the SEC refused to play rival games in 2020, this will be #8 in a row if when we win Saturday. We never know for sure how this one game will end, but in my heart, I believe our Tigers will win #8, that really should be #9 in a row!!!

I hope he and the other coaches help the players understand that too. For us fans the game means so much because we’ve grown up in it. We’ve seen great wins and tough losses. Not all of these young men watched or lived through the stupid five bomb period or any other losses to them. We’ve been spoiled as a fan base but I never want those days to happen ever again. I’m not foolish enough to believe Clemson will win every game againsr little brother for the rest of my life but I d@mn sure don’t want to hear any crowing coming out of cootland on Saturday!!!! Let’s go TIGERS!!!!! Time to get number 8 in a row Saturday afternoon.

Agree 100%. We have been spoiled and the 5-bomb period was painful but I believe the Tigers put it all together on Saturday for a big chicken kickin’ in The Valley! GO TIGERS!!!!!

I will hate it like everyone else who lives here, and with this game being a day before my birthday, it would make a chitty B-Day if we lose on Saturday, but that isn't going to happen, and like the past 8 years I will have another Happy Birthday, Go Tigers and beat the coots!!!
PS/ But if we do lose this game, I will be out and about on my B-Day Sunday wearing my Clemson gear waiting for a coot to say something so I can say, WOW, I can barely remember the last time we lost to y'all, it's been something like 9 years ago hasn't it, smile really big and walk off saying enjoy this one, it could be longer before y'all stumble on another win!!!

Happy birthday Allorange. Love reading your posts.
Tigers will win if we secure the football. During that 5 year stretch of chicken wins we turned the ball over multiple times a game.
Hoping Dabo uses the Tenn game as a kick in the shorts of our boys to remind them that they can play and we need to be ready
Tigers 31-24

exactly... I hope like hell no one actually asked him this question or even thought he might not understand - what an absolutely ludicrous concept.
As for the players, my understanding is that that the players quickly absorb the rivalry as a part of their being. I dont think the coaches need to help them get up for the rivalry. HOWEVER there is more on the line than the State Championship and I hope they are able to properly convey the reality that from Louisville to the last game played, each game is their Super Bowl and they've got to have their head and heart into each play. I suspect the coaches are doing their part.

We need it all. None of that 3rd Q nonsense from last week. Catch the balls. Hold on to the balls. Steal the ball from them. Crush them BAD. And stay healthy. Is that too much to ask? Go Tigers! Pluck dem coots

As Tiger 58 years if it comes to CLEMSON or TCU IN final 4 spot hope TCU gets it. Hoping both TCU and CU makes it. OSU and Michigan are worthless. Only reason they are in top 4 blind people rank the final 4
