Blake, we'd love to have you Bud. You know your choices, have tons of fun and opportunities to play for championships... or go to a school that is still struggling.
Understand that Dabo won't abandon you, whereas SCAR you may get replaced by a transfer. As a Clemson fan, no brainer, but good luck wherever you end up. Hopefully a Tiger where you'll get a national championship ring .

I don't think that you could compare that to being out recruited, I think that is being brain washed by family and friends that have been on the wrong side for most of their life. It's like a smoker that knows without a doubt that smoking will send them to an early grave, but they refuse to give up smoking!!!!

In State kids grow up knowing they’re either Clemson or Scar
2

|
|
That’s just a fact.
Take someone like Cam Pringle, who hadn’t seen Scar beat Clemson since he was in the 5th grade, and yet he decides to become a gamecock.
That’s simply conditioning over his entire formative years by those closest to him.
There will be many kids who will sign with Clemson for the same reason.
It’s really got nothing to do with how hard an in-state kid is recruited. They are just predisposed to choose the place they’ve been led to for their entire lives.
Year before last, we swept the best WRs in the state and Scar was shut out.
We’ll get our share … we always do. Just not this particular cycle.

Hopefully, he is a Tiger, but, maybe he is just impressed with SCAR's last senior class who put together a sterling record of 21-27. Maybe it is the beauty of SCAR's campus or the town of Columbia. Perhaps he is impressed with their women's basketball team.

Clemson or SCar?!? Bahahaha!!!! There are a lot of tough decisions in life and that isn’t one of them. Are you going to go to SCar and win championships?!? They haven’t won ship since 1969 bro.
Might as well be picking between well done sirloin or a medium rare filet. Good luck figuring that out!

I am sure Dabo will be evaluating this going forward if we lose Franks, Thompson, and Pringle. 3 highly touted OL to the coots is hard to swallow. They are clearly selling something to these kids and the loss this year didn't help.

I’m sorry but after visiting us and taking a serious look at what we have to offer vs Coots you should know clearly which is the obvious choice. If your are truly having to weigh your options go ahead and be a gamecock because there’s really no comparison.
The caveat I would add is if you have family that have heavy influence pressuring you to be a gamecock. Pringle, Pickens, Burch were all pressured by family.

I happen to know this kid and his family personally, and it definitely isn't NIL or pressure from his family. Otherwise we wouldn't even be in the running. Sometimes we forget that we are literally dealing with kids (teens, in his case 16!!) making life-changing decisions. Regardless of where he chooses to go, he will be fine. He's a smart kid with a great support system. TBH, I never thought Clemson had a chance so I'm ecstatic that we are in serious consideration and that means we've done something to impress him! Wherever he ends up, I will be rooting for his success!

Clemson and SCAR are in the same category as far as football is concerned maybe you should do a little more research. I knew how to do that when I was 16.
I grew up in Columbia as a gamecock. If he's smart he will make the right decision.
Or maybe they are selling playing time? It definitely won't be championships with UK, UF, UT, and UGA on the schedule.

If they played in The ACC, The Big 12, The Pac-12, or The Big Ten, they still wouldn't be winning any NCGs in FB. The years that they were in the ACC they never won more than one ACC championship, and that was probably bc of an off year among the ACC teams. USUC just isn't and have never been a championship school in college FB!!!!

Outside of SC kids no one recruit we’ve gone head to head with SC has chosen SC. 9 times out of 10 SC kids have family ties to SC. And typically big time recruits we go after don’t have SC in their consideration. These families in SC have their kids brainwashed.
Look at Pickens and Burch. Pickens didn’t develop well at SC and neither did Burch. One is risking jumping into the draft and the other bailed to another school.
SC will always live and die by instate recruiting. When the state has multiple years of good talent SC will be a solid team. But we all know SC isn’t consistent. Which is why Clemson relies of GA and NC as well as cherry picking nationally.

And as a solid team on average they will win how many games, 5-6-7-8, at their very best counting a bowl win, 9, and I think it was 10 once in their 100 + years of their histoRy!!!
USUC has never and will never ever be a real threat to Clemson with the exception of women's Basketball. Like or hate it, that is the only sport they have ever had their best success. Who's fault is that, well I can promise that it isn't any fault of Clemson's in anyway shape of form. If the USUC fan base needs someone or something to blame for their failure in college sports, well then they should put the total blame where it actually belongs, and that finger points directly at their administration. Their administration are the ones that approves all hirings and how much money they are allowed to pay any HC and their assistants, P E R I O D! ! ! ! !

Well one factor is we have no good history of developing OL but neither do the coots. That combined with our 1 point loss can be touted as they are the up and coming team which they won't be. That one point loss, caused by our coaches, caused a lot more damage than was realized. After their mediocre season this year and a win in cootland, they will experience many transfers in my opinion.

As being someone that has lived in Hawaii for 4 years, I'll choose Hawaii over about any place I've ever live IF, if it wasn't so expensive to live there. When I did live there, my X wife was a 1st lieutenant Army nurse at Trippler Army medical center (the Pink Palace) in Honolulu Hawaii. Her military pay grade affording us free rent and power, with my job as a longline fisherman made it pretty easy for the two of us to do most all the things we wanted to do while living in Hawaii. Plus,
whenever the wife had leave built up, we would plan a week on Maui, which to us was our favorite place to go of the Hawaiian islands. Our most favorite things to do while there, was to take horseback trips into the mountains to some of the most awesome waterfalls in Hawaii. And the snorkeling in the sunken crater of Molokini is something you will never forget.
In one word IMO, Mesmerizing is the only word for describing it, and it's always worth the price of a day trip, even if it was for only 10 minutes it would be worth it, but it's best to call weeks before if you want a chance of seeing the most amazing Marine life that you could ever see. For me and my then wife, it was breath taking, all 3 trips we made to Molokini crater that's a short boat ride off the Maui island.
It's like taking a trip to fantasy island bc the Marine life was something I've never seen any other place while living in Hawaii for 4 years, it's off the charts special, and when you see it for yourself, you feel that our version of God had to have created it. Things like that just don't evolve in my understanding of how our world was created. I mean when you see all the different shapes, colors, and sizes of life forms, you feel that God had to create it just to show mankind how creative he is. Just thought I would pass that on from my memory of some of the thing I saw while living in Hawaii...

He has to be look at the facts & success of the Clemson players in & after school, the NFL & successful businesses & families.
I can imagine anyone not picking the experience & love of Dabo. Shane experience & credibility isn’t in the same ballpark.
My guess is he has a girl going there or other players we didn’t recruit he wants to play with.
Imagine the difference of living in the Greenville area as a Clemson Tiger after finishing compared to being a Gamecock. It will affect him for many years after graduating unless he plans to move to Columbia.
No better engineering school than Clemson especially the Money ? he’ll make after his playing career.
He needs to look at proven family & the future impacts. I hope he becomes a Tiger and he doesn’t make a huge mistake by going to SC.
He needs to talk to Jordan Burch who wanted to go to Clemson but his mom worked there.

He needs to talk to DJ to feel the love the fanbase showered him with…lol
Whenever you have the need to point a finger of why your FB program has been so terrible over your FB history, and you need to lay blame on someone or something, blame your failures in college sports where they actually belongs. That blame goes directly at the usuc administration. Your administration are the ones that approves all hirings and how much money they are allowed to pay any HC and their assistants. That is exactly where USUC failure begin and end!!!!
Nothing concerning Clemson or our fan base has ever been the cause of your college FB failings, never, not one single cause goes to anything Clemson that y'all love to hate bc our administration cares about winning at the highest level!!! That's the absolute truth, y'all hate Clemson and our fan base bc we win at the highest level, and your administration don't care a thing about that...

I guess the kid didn't do any research, and this is what I learned about Clemson as an engineering school, ( Clemson is 11th among public universities in the latest U.S. News & World report rankings.) I have googled the same question by just changing school name, and honestly, I haven't gotten anything to come up with USUC as a public engineering school. Maybe someone that's smarter than me, and that shouldn't be very hard, they can google the question about Clemson - USUC and their ranking as a public engineering school.

Know where this guys is going. That being said if Clemson doesn't push as hard as possible for local star players even if they are not considering us then thats a bad look for Clemson. We go get the best lineman in AL and nation with Peter Woods out from Sabans and so many others claws so we have to show the same tenacity with guys like this. He is not Hyatt but he could start after a couple years.

That there is where the problem comes in. At the coots FB program a talented player like that can come in and be a starter within a few months, but at Clemson it would take him a couple of seasons to be as good or better than the starter in place. It's the promise that Dabo will not make to any recruit, they will not start until he feels they are ready and he can trust that they can fill a starter role, and that's what they're wanting before a commitment!!!

People put too much stock into head to head results when it comes to recruiting. Do people really think a recruit is going to decide between Clemson and South Carolina based on the outcome of 1 game? Like if we got into range for a FG at the end to win the game by 2 points this recruit or some other recruit would pick us over them, but because they held on to win by 1 point they're signing with them?
Being able to sell recruits on the program moving in the right direction, playing time, relationships with coaches, and NIL money matter much more than the results from a single game.
