Time for sincere apology...

Oct 3, 2022, 11:25 AM

I was going to post before NC State, but now is the time after going up against stronger competition. After the Georgia Tech game (and the Spring game for that matter), based on what I saw, I was convinced that Cade was better than DJ and gave us the best chance to win. I never bad-mouthed DJ as I always was pulling for him (and pulling for whomever gave our Tigers that best chance to win), although, I did question what our coaches were seeing (probably no different than the various commentators that predicted the handing over of the reigns to Cade by game 4-5).

I want to apologize for the short-sightedness and I am tremendously proud of DJ and his ability to turn things around and play like a champion - Wow, the transformation in his confidence and how he has played in 2021 vs 2022 as well as his continued improvement throughout the season has been a pleasure to observed. So, I am sorry for misjudging and not seeing what the coaches have been seeing. But I guess that is why we are on message boards and they are making the big bucks!

I am retired, and therefore free to fully embrace the ridiculousness! If I was still working, I would have to have this on split screen where I could make it disappear in an instant if someone darkened the office door!

I'm not apologizing for anything - based on how he.......

played last season DJ deserved criticism and doubt.

But now that he's turned it around and earned the starting job he deserves praise and credit (which I definitely am giving him).

The starting QB job is not owed to someone - it has to be earned to be kept. And DJ's done that!

But no, I'm not going to apologize for being critical of how he played last year. Because he played poorly. But I'm proud of him for what he's going this season.

What's the apology for

Oct 3, 2022, 12:53 PM

He didn't perform well last year and he knows it,and his coaches knew it, and he went about working hard to get better. If we didn't have a fanbase that cared as much, we'd have no hand wringing, and no "adversity", therefore no motivation to improve. Apology should be reserved for those who put lipstick on pigs constantly. "The kisses of an enemy are sweet".
