Who remembers KJ McDaniel?

One of my all-time favorite Tiger hoopsters. That young man led the acc in blocked shots- at 6’6”. He could not only jump outa the gym, his supernatural timing made him essentially a 7’ shot blocker. Averaged 17+ pts/game, 7+boards and 2.8 blocks/per game. He was acc defensive POY. He made Clemson basketball fun. His junior year was 2013/14. Brownell’s fourth year. We went 20-13 (10-8) regular season and were snubbed by the ncaa, but won 3 nit games and lost in the semifinals.
Clemson hoops fans were excited about 2014/15. KJ had exploded onto the scene. Lots of potential on the bench. Then KJ left early for the nba and, I will argue, Clemson and Brad Brownell never recovered. Had KJ come back, we would have been a very dangerous team. IYAM, kj’s early departure foreshadowed a full decade of annual and miserable spring bloodletting over whether we should keep him or fire him. Stuck in a basketball twilight zone. Go Tiguhs!!

Sucking to KJ leaving. True story though- we had Prowl and Growl on Yorktown and I talked to Brad and I could tell K J leaving screwed up his plans and probably his cover.
