Tiger atmosphere in places you’ve lived

Feb 23, 2022, 10:14 AM

For me:
Winston-Salem 1953-2003
Tiger presence steadily grew over the years, growing rapidly in the last several years. The IPTAY Triad chapter was strong and active.

Mt. Pleasant SC 2003-2007
Many Tigers, Great place to live! Miss it.

Citrus Hills, FL 2007-2020
Minimal Tiger presence. Mostly gators

Bermuda Run, NC 2020- present
Surprised how many Tigers are now in this area and around Clemmons.
Love seeing the Orange Paws and flags! Many CU alumni in the area

Many years ago, I was in New York...

standing on the observation deck of the Empire State Building. Two random strangers approached me because they saw my Clemson ring.

I had similar encounters in places like the UK, Italy, Jamaica and Alaska among others.

Clemson is everywhere.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Only lived in a few places

Here in Greenville SC, of course, Tiger Nation is large.

Lived in SW Fla for a while, and it was minimal to non-existent. Also lived in Tallahassee, where it was minimal as well. All Seminoles there, of course.

But as the other guy said, I've run in to Clemson people all over - on a mountain top in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, in an airport shuttle on Oahu in Hawai'i, in the airport in Boston, in St Thomas in the Caribbean. I always try to wear something Clemson when I'm out of the area, because I almost always run in to someone with a Clemson or SC connection. Makes it fun!

I lived in Clemson for awhile, so there's that.

Now I live in Greenville where there are way too many ####### gamecocks.

There's something in these hills.

Clemmons/Burmuda Run/Advance area is loaded with Clemson fans, it’s somewhat surprising how many Tigers are in this area.

Everywhere I’ve ever been I’ve met Tiger fans, the only area where they really don’t care about colleges is LA, California. They pull for the real USC but hardly any of them support the team.

I saw a decent amount of Clemson flags and car decals when I was in Denver last year

D.C. - Pretty impressive. Great Clemson Club there.

Boston - "What's college football? GO PAHTS!"

drunk at the putt putt.

For me ...

Greenwood, SC - Don't know. I was too young to care about football.

Albertville, AL - 3 Clemson people - Mom, Dad, and me. My brother is a coot fan.

Ninety Six, SC - Good mix of Clemson fans and SCar fans. However, I think there were more Clemson fans than the other.

Clemson, SC - Duh!

North Augusta, SC - I knew several Clemson fans, but the demographic was all over the place due to a diversity of people from different areas of the country working for The Bomb Plant

Greenville, SC / Greer, SC - when I first moved here, it seemed to be more Clemson-leaning. Then, the Dark Five Years brought the roaches out of the woodworks, and there was an uptick in SCar fans. But, now you can't tell with the massive influx of people from all over, particularly those bucknuts. But, generally, I would say there are more Clemson fans.
