Thoughts while a fugitive is on the loose

FBI: Wanted fugitive spotted in Awendaw, search continues

Berkeley County deputies say the search for a wanted fugitive has centered on the Francis Marion National Forest.

There were local and federal officers swarming SeWee Outpost today in Awendaw, grabbing coffee and grub and strategizing. I heard a group of them discussing nearby landmarks on one of their Google maps. I think I heard Berkeley County schools suspended bus services near the area he was last seen.

Some thoughts that I guess are politic-ish...

1. Last night, I was thankful I had my firearms at my home. I don't feel any real threat from this guy (I don't think he's close enough and he's likely heading further up the county in the Francis Marion forest), but I still felt much better about it. It's moments like this that remind me we need this right.

2. Today, I was also thankful to see the police and FBI presence. Cops and FBI catch a lot of #### on this board and elsewhere. I get frustrated with some police practices, but I'm also glad they're out there to find pieces of #### like this. That's why "defund police" movements are stupid. But in the same sense, the ridiculous FBI conspiracies or the "dismantle the FBI!" calls (and yeah, some folks here have done that) are absurd. I'm glad we have them around to help track down this guy; they're even more experienced at this than the local boys.

Hope they catch this ###### today.
