This isn't based on today, although today seemed only solidify it.
Offensively, our best WR is clearly Tyler Brown. And the fact that most people didn't even know who he was before the season, and he's CLEARLY our best WR, shows where we are. Let me be clear. This isn't just an opportunity to bash players, because they all have roles. We just are just missing some roles and have too many of others.
Beau Collins looks the part. Bigger, tall, yet the problem is he's not a dog. He doesn't fight through press coverage and looks directly for a flag on every play he's not perfectly open and the ball isn't thrown perfectly to him. Every once in a while he makes a great catch, but that mindset isn't there. No one at all is scared of him.
Antonio Williams is pretty good, but he's asked to do too much. He's the complementary guy to the #1 we don't have.
Browns awesome.
Adam Randall is a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. I don't even know where to start evaluating him. There's just zero production. At some point what they say you are and what you are are two different things. Back to my Brown point. You don't need Dabo to tell you how good he is, you see it the first time he's on the field. You don't need to be told how good stellato is, it's clear.
Hamp Greene, Spector, every other amazing practice guy that Dabo thinks is Hunter Renfrow. They aren't. And you can't have 4 of them out there anyways.
Briningstool is a weapon we rarely use.
How long is the Garrett Riley thing going to take to work? I mean was it really so bad we needed him just to get us "better" while we still lose games? I'm trying to be patient, but certain key play calling is actually horrendous. So bad I've got friends who pull for other teams texting me like dude that is terrible. Not all during a drive, just a key 3rd down or something. When it seems to matter the most.
Barnes should be on the field. Parker, woods etc should be on the field.
Our WRs aren't terrible. They just aren't great. Except for a few. These guys need challenging their manhood.
No problems with the defense really. They may not be Venables defense, but they're really good. Go to the soccer team and get a kicker. The fact clemson can't get a guy to kick it through the uprights from 29 yards is laughable.
