Thoughts and prayers for family of Allen Mitchell.....

a qb for south carolina back in the early 80's. We both grew up in Batesburg Leesville (although I'm 10 years older) and I've followed his sports career through hs and college.

I know his family is hurting. I talked with his Father a week ago at a funeral. :(

This is greater than a rivalry. Say a prayer if it's in your heart.

good a guy as you could ever know. Beyond Boy Scout squeaky clean even when we were kids and in spite of my influence. Greatest athletic competitor I have ever personally known. When it was game time those steel blue eyes locked in and it was game on. He would get the crap beat out of him in Columbia but that was the only way he knew how to play. RIP.

His parent lived up "at the end of the road" from where my grandparents lived.
