This "Win Probability" thing on ESPN is the stupidest

Dec 28, 2021, 2:28 PM

metric ever devised. The more a team is ahead, the greater their chance of winning. I could've told you that. I'm following the Auburn/Houston game online and Auburn is still trailing, but driving, so as they get closer to the end zone, the Win Probability has edged toward them. If Auburn scores a TD, it'll go up. Houston drives, it'll start to go down. It's really one of the dumbest most useless metrics they've devised. Totally pointless. But whatever, ESPN - you do your thing!

Yeah. Earlier today, I saw a prognostication

for a game that said one team was favored but the other team had a 60+% probability of winning.
