And connect with.
Streeter has no identity as a play caller. Wes has no personality. DJ has no motivation and at times does not appear interested in playing the sport whatsoever. There appears to be not one single vocal defensive leader.
Our only "leader" averaged 5.7 ypc and rarely got the ball. DJ's best weapon has arguably been his legs and didn't have a rushing attempt until the 3rd quarter.
I can live with the other team making plays. But to not even attempt the things that have gotten us to this point (QB runs, TE over the middle, deep sideline routes in competitive situations) is difficult to understand. Same could be argued on the defensive side in terms of blitz packages.
Our coaches appear scared to make a mistake, and the players are a reflection of that. You will not win every game, but to not take risks is absolutely inexcusable.

Very true. To be an “elite” team we have zero superstars.

Of course I still root for them, it was more of a commentary on the complete lack of energy and passion from the top down.

Agreed that it is hard to connect with them like I have with Tajh teams, DW4 teams, or the KB 2017 team, and TLaw 2018 team. I've had this issue with Clemson teams for a few years now (2019). But I still root for them the same as I always have and that will never change till the day I meet my end. But this has been the quietest, most head down, methodically trod along team I've seen in a very long time this year (possibly the worst in Dabo's tenure in this aspect. Yes even over the 2010 team). Nobody really has been standing out as a true leader on the field and it's showing.

Would beat the 09 or even '10 teams at this point.
Atleast we had Spiller during those years. Other than Shipley we don't have a player of his caliber willing to lay it all out on the field.

We are also missing a Boulware, Skalski, etc at linebacker. Our LB may be athletic but are nowhere close to cerebral or vocal leaders.

No Skalski like player directing traffic and chewing some butt.
